Jason, all respect to all the models you have shot in your channel, but Maddi has brought a new level to the game. You guys work so well together. She is both entertaining and beautiful, a complete joy to watch. Her modeling is more like a performance piece. You guys , keep up the great work together.

Great video Jason! I've learned so much from you. And I love how you actually are showing us real shoots and behind the scenes stuff. I'm a relatively new subscriber and to photography, but I've noticed a big difference between you and these other "KZbin Photographers" who only talk about Gear and stuff that doesn't even really matter like they make you think it does.

When the film Braveheart was filmed (some scenes on location in Ireland) they had the same issue with midges. It was noted that one of the assistants was less prone to being attacked by said insects. When asked what repellent she was using she replied none. It turned out she was wearing cosmetic company Avon's 'Skin So Soft' product. Living in the West of Scotland and suffering from the same issue I have tried this myself and found it to be very effective. I read somewhere that the Royal Marines have used it also. Worth considering as I believe it contains only natural ingredients. Loved the video, the chemistry between yourself and Maddie made the shoot. Great work.

Hey Jason, how do you meter for scenes like this / nighttime shoots with a model? Do you spot meter on a wall and then change the Rotolight power to match this exposure? Could you quickly demonstrate this in camera in a future video? Fantastic videos as usual by the way. Especially liked the Irish music touch.

Maddie is an incredible spirit! Is the rotolight compatible with an a6300? I'm looking to upgrade my speed lite system to rotolight but I'm still a rookie in photography. My background is in cinematography but I'm making the crossover at the moment to improve the variety of my work. Thanks for your awesome help again ✌️
@mavfan17 жыл бұрын
it's compatible with just about any camera, including the A6300. However, as a rookie I'd suggest picking up a basic flash cheap, under $50 before you move on to a rotolight.

Hey Jason, watching you for a while now and I love Sony. Just switched to the A7R III (got lucky enough to pick the last one up yesterday). Today i went shoot some landscape stuff to test dynamic range, then bam... raw not supported by adobe... damn I'm so angry at adobe for being so slow updating their supported cameras. Anyways just downloaded capture 1, but I don't want to learn another program for 2 weeks, do you have a trick / convert so they work with adobe? If not, which program do you use? Ty! ps: I love you too, not only sony haha!
@JasonLanierPhotography7 жыл бұрын
The brand new cameras like the R3 will always have the shots first in Capture One and then Adobe comes around about a month later. You can just import them into capture one and export them as PSD files. Then re-import those PSD files into Lightroom. That's the only workaround...:)
@Krowny7 жыл бұрын
Without losing quality on the raw? "if that makes sense" ^^ Thanks a lot for the answer! , somehow skin color sucks in capture one
@shifteleven7 жыл бұрын
Skin color sucking in Capture One? That's the first I've ever heard anyone say that! For the RAW quality thing - export to PSD in a 16bit color space and not an 8bit. Then you should be pretty good - but keep the RAW files around too. So you can't transfer your edits, but you can transfer metadata - ratings, keywords, labels, owner and whatnot. You just need to save the metadata as a sidecare file (.xmp). When you import, LR will be able to read that. PS - you lucky bastard! I want an R3 now too!!!! :)
@liteoner7 жыл бұрын
Or even as DNG, which is probably more suited for the job :)
