Hi chums, Thank you so much for watching and for leaving such great comments! I would just like to point out that although Clue markets itself as a 'female health app', and I repeat that in this video, not only those who identify as women have periods and you don't have to have periods to be a woman. As I said, the Clue website (www.helloclue.com) and the app is really inclusive! ChandlerNWilson has a great video about this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/goikZmaCipmrmas J xxx

I have the worst case of migraines with all the beautiful migraine aura before. I lose my vision, can't move any of the limbs, can't speak and sometimes even understand what people are talking to me. There's one substance that is working for me and it's name is Flunarizine. I haven't had a migraine in a year, at least the aura, had some headaches but the pain wasn't as acute as before. I think you should try it, maybe it'll help you!

I'm so sorry you have to go through that. :( If it's an consolation I bleed so heavily on my period now because of blood thinners I need to stay on while I have premenstrual dysmorphic disorder and was already severely anemic prior to taking the blood thinners. My pill managed all my agony and now when my period hits I can't go to work for two days as it always hits a thursday and during those two days Ic annot stand up because I lose so much blood I faint. XD I also take about 3 weeks to fully recover to do the things I need to do and things I love to do. So after my hemoglobin consistently plummeting my doctors FINALLY believed me when I said it's Texas Chainsaw Massacre style. XD So hopefully this coming month things will be normal. BC I literally drop fist size clots and it's watery and just I go through so many towels and dont eat because I feel so horrible lol. I used to love my period, now i think about braining myself every month. o.o

I’m so embarrassed 😅 I was extremely confused for a stupid amount of time about why you’d need to use Clue. For some reason my mind always imagined that a person who transitioned to male would simply not get periods anymore. I forget that transitioning doesn’t always include hormone replacement. So then I thought maybe you meant you were transitioning to female and using Clue to practice for when you will get the periods, and I was like omg you’re so committed! Ok, my brain hurts now but I’m glad you’re able to use Clue in a non-gendered way. I’m gonna download it too! Edit: ok I’m an idiot I realized you probably can’t get periods if you are a trans female even with hormones b/c of the uterus. Honestly I wish no one in the world would have to get damn periods and our bodies would just text us each month- like, hey, you’re not pregnant, love you bye till next month
@mariaeastcoast32714 жыл бұрын
Thekla Kennei can you expand on this? I have a friend who is M to F, and having hormone issues. This could be helpful. But before recommending I’d like some additional info.

My son is trans and uses this app as well. Because the imagery and all of that is very neutral and not gendered it has been wonderful for him. Periods can cause dysphoria for trans masculine people (whether trans male or nonbinary masculine like my kid) but this particular app can make it less stressful to track it all.
@emilypresleysee4 жыл бұрын
@@mariaeastcoast3271 I don't know how helpful or useful it would be if she doesn't have a uterus or ovaries. It is a menstrual cycle tracker. It does track emotions, physical state, meds etc so it may work for that but there may be something better suited out there.

I know it’s not really the topic of the video but I wanted to comment on how effectively you summed up a major issue with our health system when you mentioned being discharged from the migraine clinic due to missing an appointment with a migraine. I have so many suspected health issues that have never been looked into because l’m too ill to attend appointments. The, you can only only re-arrange appointments up to 3 times, has always struck me as silly when, by the very nature of the thing, they are dealing with sick people who may have symptom flare ups! I do understand that it wastes their resources when people miss appointments but I always try to give plenty of notice and you’d think there would be some way to be a little more forgiving when people are honestly too sick to get out of bed!

I am a nonbinary person who gets really awful periods and I decided that while I don't really date people (and therefore have no risk of pregnancy), I didn't deserve the monthly pain. I went to the doctor and they scheduled an appointment to get an IUD and after a few months, I barely spotted and the pain decreased dramatically. I recommend them for most people who have bad periods and don't plan to get pregnant in the next five years (after the IUD is removed it's perfectly easy to get pregnant if you want, so I've heard). They're not an option for everyone, but they have such a low dose of hormones because they are already at the site of action that they rarely have any mood effects. 💜💜💜

I told my doctor about my migraines and she prescribed me an estradiol patch to wear when I'm not taking my active pills. It's been an absolute miracle, it's helped SO much! As long as I get the timing right and keep it on my skin the entire time, the flares are minimal.

I love how I’m on my period while watch this and I’ve used Clue for the past 2 years (even though when I switched phones it did mess it up so now it’s not accurate) Also the first time I started was on a school trip to Alton Towers, not a good day

Yoooo I've had the clue app for like 3-4 months and it really helps. I'd reccommend it 100%

yes! no one pays enough attention to migraines and periods and it's far more common than anyone notices. I get migraines just before my period even though I'm "healthy" and being on a contraceptive has helped me so much.

I love clue it's so easy to use and it makes it so easy to plan things around my periods. I would highly recommend xx

I've used clue for a few years now and it is great, especially if you have regular periods. Sometimes I do have regular periods for months at a time and the clue app becomes surprisingly accurate at predicting when you'll start your period.

One that might be worth a discussion in conjunction with your team, is feverfew (plant not necessarily tablets) for the migraines. With my ABI balance and stuff can be a major issue, as can energy levels (you've got POTS you'll have a similar idea what it's like to be in my body too). Initially I was on Paramax when I started getting period related migraines and they do zonk it, but unfortunately they zonk you too. Mum read up on feverfew and I came off the Paramax and onto the Feverfew to get through my GCSE mocks because the Paramax were getting me into trouble for dosing off a lot in school. The dosage is as many leaves as will make a fistful for the person with the headache. You either put them into a plain bread sandwich (no butter etc) with either a sprinkle of salt or sugar (whichever is your preference), or you can take them steeped for a few minutes in hot water either alone, or with a tsp of honey. 1997 was when I switched. The following week I bought the paramax back to the pharmacy and I've never looked back. It's perhaps one to have a conversation about? It's a chamomile so ridiculously easy to grow in a pot too.

Hi Jessica, One of my biggest issues with migraines IS period migraines. They were so bad I was non-functioning as I would throw up and be in bed for five days. I was referred to an OBGYN that specializes in pain and was given an IUD. No periods = No Period Migraines. No cramps. No fatigue from periods. It’s awesome.

So glad this part of my life is OVER! One of the perks of middle age. My periods were never bad, so I was lucky there. I'll be happy with my hot flashes, they're better than cramps any day!

I’m 18 and been using Clue for a long time now, I’ve been taking birth control pills since I was 16 because I suffer from cronical pain and I would always fall unconscious on school or wherever I was. I even lost my conscience short after waking up so nobody noticed, they just thought I was sleeping longer that day, it was a literal nightmare. Clue reminds me my pill, at first I forgot even 3 a month and that’s really bad, but like I said, clue sends me a message everyday so I don’t forget. It’s been really helpful. I haven’t fainted or lost my conscience in almost a year now. I hope people get to now the app now and that it proves to them just as helpful as to me.

first of all thank you for the story about the guest bed, i really need to hear about others having such experiences because i've bled over things, places, situations that are all types of inconvenient and i still can't fully shake off the shame of it (my cycle is super ffkn irregular i live in constant vigilance); that said your tale was well told, in my mind it played out like a bruce willis action movie, i guess it could've been worse cause when you said you called for help that was a better transition than what i thought would happen: them finding you after having folllowed the trail. i hope there was no trail at all. i know what it's like and i would not wish a trail on anyone.

Sometimes my cramps are so bad, like it just hurts from my mid-back to my knees that the only good thing that actually makes me feel a little better is screaming. One time, I was driving by myself and a wave of pain came over me and I just screamed.

Migraines are absolutely the worst. I've had to take so many exams while having a migraine. Recently I have been taking multiple probiotics since my gut is absolutely wrecked because of my illness that was untreated for 15 years. And I found that it really helped! Since starting one that is specifically made to combat migraines I've barely had any. I don't know if it will work for everyone, but it has certainly made my life so much easier (plus my illness finally being treated also helps a lot in general)
