July 2024 I filled up my Range Rover sd v6 at my house in south west of France and drove up to my home in Liverpool via a short detour to Thatcham in Berkshire, in total 718 miles and still had 95 miles of range left on arrival 👍 All accomplished in about 11 hours driving time, really amazing vehicles

I’ve got a 2017 sdv8 4.4. On distance days I see an average of 41mpg and around town 35mpg. Oddly it has slightly better mpg / efficiency than the sdv6. But it also down to driving style and uses. I took her to Normandy 1400mile trip only fuelled twice and got back with a quarter of a tank left. On average I only fuel once a month if I’m local. I’ve been blown away by her but my first tdv8 also did the same was more efficient than expected. Wow main dealers are a rip off average 200£ hr. I personally stick with a specialist’s and also been trained as a VM I also do some of the services myself with the added benefit I know it’s done properly.

@@stevoone342 how does the SDV8 feel overall? I would like to get one of those next.
@stevoone342Ай бұрын
@@BuySellCarsTV I’ve had the tdv8 and sdv8, to myself I love it and think it’s the best balance of efficiency and power and reliability for a jlr product. But with that sead for some the initial take of is a little laggy but I’ve had no personal issues with that. So far I’ve had no issues, but have heard sensors can be an issue but that could be sead of any modern car. But also keep an eye on the oil cooler due the seal does need to be replaced but isn’t a massive issue. But overall is very reliable but also depends on driving style and looking after eg servicing. I would suggest test drive one first but I do strongly recommend them. But as like everything check service history and service early than jlr suggest I do mine ever 7-9k manufacturer suggestions 16k .

Great video and a good way to work out real world mpg. I have 2017 4.4 sdv8 and 2017 3 tdv6. Both getting around 28 mpg (according to the trip computer) 😒. That's countryside driving where average speeds around 40-45 mph. I don't agree that your trip computer is more or less in agreement with your calcs. A 6% difference is significant. Is the speedo also out by 6%. Or the odometer? Worries me that the trip computer is less accurate than it should be.

Multiply the litres by 0.22 to convert to imp gals, divide this sum into the miles travelled to get mpg. 0.22 is one of these magic numbers it crops up many times in calculations, its also easy to work out sums mentally or on the back of a fag packet.
