Wow! I just love those "hidden" places you come up with and it's always a great adventure finding them. This was absolutely beautiful with all of the colors around the lake and the sparkles on it as well. A fine summer grand finale hike indeed! Before you cross the wood walkway to Lake Haiyaha. If you go right along the water there is a nice area to go sit on the rocks without all the people. Also love going to embryo lake, as there is usually no one there.

I did a Google search for "history of embryo lake in rmnp" and the AI Overview said that "essentially, the lake is a "baby" glacial lake, hence the name "Embryo Lake." I couldn't find any information on its history from the park service.
