An example of such a composition is "Mathe Malayadhwaja..." in Khamas. Usually considered a varnam and sung in about 8 mins, it does complete injustice to the beauty, lyrical and laya, of the composition. I heard Krishna's rendition of the same in an unhurried manner and it was scintillating. Very beautiful.

I am starting to agree with his views. I played carnatic violin briefly and performed for a couple of years on the concert circuit, until I moved on. I always felt carnatic music was 'trapped' in this concert format with very little room for real creativity. There were so many compositions that I connected with but were considered 'small' and insignificant for concert format reasons. Exploring them was implicitly forbidden within the protocols of the concert. I am happy he has broken this long held dogma, in some sense breaking the shackles (shattering would be more appropriate!). Lets see if this brings more meaningful change and variety within the field. (Not saying the current format be abolished, just treat Krishna's as another product in the carnatic industry that's currently driven by a monopoly format. As an economist, I am always vary of monopolies wherever they are!)

The structure of the song is destroyed mainly because of the lack of understanding of the Telugu lyrics, for example, in Tyagaraja’s songs. This void being accentuated by trying out various versions of presenting the tune, clearly adds to the destruction of the meaning and essence of the song. This has been a big problem !

My humble request to this fellow is not to inject dirty caste politics into carnatic music. His attempt to showcase himself as reformer are cheap, low publicity stunts. Stick to music Mr TMK and leave the rest to God.

Everyone is entitled to their views. You have the same right as he has to express your opinions. But, along with the opinions he put forth, he also gave his reasoning and an insight into what the thought process was for making such statements. Do you have any such inputs or are your thoughts just limited to a mindless boycott of something that challenges your views, followed by obscenities and abuse?

And I haven't seen anything lofty as you are claiming that he has given 'reasoning' to his childish pranks that hurt a sustained inclusive and tolerant society. I am a faceless no body. At least nowhere nearer to Srimaan. Sangeetha Kalaanidhimaaran DMK Krishna. Ignore me. Consider the countless evidences given by people of eminence cited, that he is worthy of the abuses and obscenities. My mite. I am not slipping under the hood, the moment i am asked to substantiate. No. Me and you are not the be all and end all in this judgement. As you rightly said, we all have our fair share of opinions. Mine turns out a bit sparkling and imaginative. Befitting only to the standards of Sangeetha Kalanidhimaaran. He does what he does. I generally tend to ignore. When it boils in me, I blister with 'obscenities' was it ..? I dont care. He doesnt. I have carefully gone through, all that internet has to offer on Srimaan Sangeetha Kalanidhimaaran DMK Krishna. I didn't find anything lofty such as you claim, on his reasoning for his own obscenities on Carnatic Music Luminaries or glorifying, so called leaders that hurled obscenities on deities and religious sentiments of the most tolerant section the society, which he(Krishna) belongs in. That dead leader is someone even the contemporary Dravidars have exhausted the use for. But this bored panda being a spicy subject himself singing praise and thus seeking attention. As to his patriotism he exposed himself by crying foul on Ajmal Kasab. Enough reason he asked for abuse and obscenities. I am a faceless nobody, not even known as much as this Sangeetha kalanidhimaaran. But look at what the well respected luminaries have to say. Unlike me or Krishna they wont talk obscene, but their counters are ever more powerful. Now, I am not ducking under the hood when called for explaining myself. My point is, you and me are faceless netizens voicing our opinion and in my case you rated mine to be obscene. Neither of us are final judges and can decree decision on the issue. Not even qualify if 'obscene' if you get what i mean. Krishna seeks attention, lobbing 'obscene' comment on harmless noble souls that are no more, going into their personal life and throwing vilifying, unverifiable profanity and he doesn't mind. As a faceless youtuber i vent myself i dont mind throwing back at him. He dont mind me. Why bother thou ? Move on ..!
