I remember the first time I ever saw SNL. I was fourteen in 1975 and staying up late and flipping through channels on a Saturday night. I turned to this newscaster I'd never seen before (Chase), and just as I did somebody stood up in the audience and shouted "I know who killed Kennedy!" They rushed the stage, a shot rang out and they fell to the ground. Of course, at that point it was obvious it wasn't an actual news program, but it was a kind of humor I'd never seen on TV before. When I was a kid I was a huge fan of Mad Magazine and it was a natural transition to become a fan of SNL.

@boxingandbulldogs6341 Жыл бұрын
Chevy Chase is one of Hollywood's finest comedic talents of all-time. It's ridiculous that the narrative about him is now shaped by people who weren't even alive when he ruled the box office in the 80's and was (along with Eddie Murphy) the most influential funny man of that decade. Instead, the only thing these people talk about when it comes to Chase is how he was mean to people on the set of some stupid TV show when he was almost 70 years old.

Wow. Interesting interview with Chevy. Jim Axelrod really, in a gentle way, pins C at the end of this video with responsibility for his recent (last 10-15 yrs) bad behavior. Apparently he was bullied so he apparently has turned around and tried to bully his costars. This is pretty typical for people who have been bullied. But no excuse. And if he really didn’t care he wouldn’t be here, on this show sorta begging to be let “back in the game”…

His fame & glory, money, pricey home, cars blahblah, are waaaay more than most people ever get. Jealous? No, thx. I wouldnt trade knowing this from the get go, for all the nose candy in hollywood. Second chances require Clearly Stated Remorse if theres any desire to move forward. I see No HUMILITY. NEVER. & No surprise!! Am i disappointed about chase?😆😂🤣 Best laugh ever

Honestly, How this guy ever made it amazes me. I never "got" him - he is an awful comedian. I guess "talent by association" is the only thing that makes sense. SNL created him and allowed him to play himself in every part of his entire career- over and over. Plus, they surrounded him with talent in writing, directing, filming, editing and most importantly promoting. Seems like a nice guy, so good for him.
