Extended Version: High-speed chase starts in South Bay and ends in the Grantville area east of I-15

Police were involved in a chase that started in the South Bay and continued northbound on Interstate 805 into the Linda Vista and Kearny Mesa areas. Shortly before 6:00 p.m., the suspect fled on foot and police set up a perimeter around a complex near Village Mission Valley Apartment Homes.
The suspect was at one point was driving through the Chula Vista area and headed eastbound on East H Street and reportedly crashed into another car, but continued to drive.

I don't think I saw the same chase she did. She said the car went over a spike strip. Uhhh smh what? No! They missed, they were not even close to the spike strip. There was at least 2 to 5 feet between the car and the strip. Please don't let her call chases anymore!

I truly believe that they should not allow people to do live reporting of chases, unless they have had experience as a sports caster, and have some basic knowledge. "I sure hope he doesn't run any red lights or put anyone in danger" Are you familiar how car chases work. I had to mute her and just watch the video.

So what happened? Did he get away ? I wish the video did not stop in the middle of him hiding. I would have blocked the guy in than ran the red light. The chase started because the guy chose to make the wrong decision and thinks he can get a way with his crime instead of being a man and accepting his punishment.

......and then the suspect, free and clear because the chase was "called off" - went on to rob three stores, assault an elderly lady, rob her, and shoot two witnesses. Don't worry..... police "have the license plate number"....... of the stolen car.

Notice how the SDPD is doing an outstanding job of holding back traffic at intersections- they’re putting the public safety FIRST. If you watch LAPD chases, they’ve got basically 100% of their squad cars getting in on the chase. You’ll see 20 cars chasing one suspect vehicle, no cops making any attempt to get ahead of it and alert innocent drivers of the danger. They couldn’t give a damn about public safety. I’ve been saying it all my life for 40+ years. San Diego PD is the best, most professional and public-safety-oriented PD in the country.
