Wow what an explanation. Perfectly articulated and demonstrated. Never even thought of the center of mass thing but it makes total sense

Yes, appropriate extension is essential!

This is such a great explanation and clarifies a few things I had misunderstood about what I should do in takeaway and transition. Particularly the term “trade bends” as has been mentioned before, I had been trying to do it actively. When the movement is just spiral back, squat, spiral through, everything just gets taken care of. The trick I had been struggling with is I was trying to spiral back without taking my left shoulder off the “starting wall”. Then I was needing to actively “trade bends” to drop the club in, which was causing me issues. Now I am actually spiralling away correctly, I am hitting them much more effortlessly. Feels amazing. Thank you both!!

Fantastic! Glad you’re feeling nice! And yea, easy maps that knock out other movements is the key!

The idea of extending finally helps me understand that squat move. Focusing on heightening the lead shoulder on the downswing is easier for me to process than the idea of extending my lead leg. Previously I’d be stuck with a collapsed upper body.

This is great, especially in tandem with what coach TJ has me working on. My feel I use is to point my sternum to the sky, and this helps me make a big turn and go vertical like they talk about to be able to drop. The club just wants to shoot out at this point, again you guys make a technical piece of the swing so fundamentally simple.

I took the spiral line idea to the range with mixed results. Some shots were as pure as I have ever hit. But at least half were low pull draws. For me the most difficult part is the drop portion. Obviously a work in progress, but thanks for giving me a road map.

Despite much effort on my part (and Riley's) I have always felt a bit lost when it came to understanding how to get through impact - chest rotation?, arm throw? active right side? more active left side?, on and on. I think this new (for me) concept will finally resolve my confusion and allow me to practice and play efficiently. Great job of explaining this move. Many thanks.

Riley, your face-on slow simulation in this video was very helpful. A modest suggestion: Do a demonstration with you swinging from different angles, especially down the line and face-on. In the demonstration show your version of the swing you teach. Use both actual speed and slow motion. And show both ball trajectory, ball speed and club head speed. I suggest progressing from slow to fast - that is partial shots and full shots. The reason for this is coherent wholeness. Show the whole swing you teach so that students have a representation of how all the parts come together. Showing speed is important because top players optimize speed/distance with direction/accuracy. Both are necessary. Accurate and very short won’t excel. Long and wildly inaccurate won’t excel either. We need to optimize both, given the constraints of age, strength, size, and fast-twitch muscle composition, flexibility, etc.

So can you say to your self when swinging the club right shoulder up, drop and left shoulder up?
@elitegolfschools6 ай бұрын
Yep! That would be a potential good map for some! ❤️

Once again. Clarified a huge amount of stuff which I have misunderstood about the rotation. For me, this will make a difference. I also agree with all positive comments I have read in comments below. Thanks a lot. Best regards Olle
