The Public Schools and Private schools teach Eurocentic American History. In the textbooks Indians who are Native Americans are depicted as barbaric and savages Why? They were protecting their women and families from the white man. After the white man learned how to cultivate the land they proceeded to murder them and eventually drove them off their territories into reservations in the Trail of Tears. The white Europeans enslaved African people here in America and forced them to work for free in chains and shackles around their ankles. They made their children work and pick the cotton too. Cotton was King. You hear people say, this is our country, REALLY. Who told ya'll that. That's that white supremacy Manifest Destiny BS. Donald Trump said, you got to fight like hell to take your country back. Back from whom? America has Native Americans living on Reservations when they were the original inhabitants. The sins of America and white America. True facts don't get angry with me. Truth hurts and truth can't be ERASED. Like the Holocaust the Native Americans and African Americans will never forget. The past affects the future.

McConnell and his kind perpetuate the system and ensure it never moves forward (to give rights to minorities). 100 year anniversary of the Tulsa massacre, the 1960s civil rights and now in 2021 - this must not be allowed to go on. Democrats and Republican alike ensure the current system remains - shuffle it around and move it sideways but never forwards. Any leader, who is in the power position and wishes to further the rights is always assassinated.

Not sure if I got a really bad one, but it basically said “We are great, and the less great stuff we did, the [insert any people that ever existed] did it worse, look how bad they are!”. Not even Brazilian textbooks, the last country to abolish slavery in the Western World and still ruled by the once slave-owning white elite, sugarcoats slavery this much.

The ONLY learning experience in my 8th grade "American History" class was getting stuck with an obscure US Civil War issue for a term paper, the Dred Scott Decision. There was no mention of this landmark case in our textbooks, and I just happened across note of it in an encyclopedia article after the other students in my assigned "brain" group had reserved all the obvious subjects, and only one paper per subject was allowed. The rest of the year was spent memorizing endless facts, persons, dates, etc, none of which I remember or have had occasion to recall. But I'll NEVER forget the trials I went through to assemble the facts of this case for that paper and what I learned about this one dark chapter in US history. Unfortunately, there are many more such dark chapters, and they need to be taught to turn the tide of US history to come.

Both are steeped in supremacy, both justify the stealing of land and both claimed that all the brutalities, humiliations and deaths which resulted from it are all hunky dory because they're ordained by God. Now it's the media "subprime" bubble of the "new left" that needs to blow...) and ignorant mobsters who think are "saving the world" by giving money to fraudsters - no wonder why Trump was elected in a country mesmerized by demagogues made into fake heroes. I stopped watching DN! for a while because I got very disappointed at its shift towards a more mainstream agenda but at least it does journalism, you can defy it and not be attacked by fanatics, overbiased, shallow and suspicious people who are bad even in the agenda they have, or are employed to back, the one-theme "journalists" who depend on leaking to do their work or exploit the work of others as mere "echo chambers", and very excited about money and making news a lucrative "private enterprise". The US is the land of fake gurus and the "new left" media is full of them, because people outsource their thinking and it seems that being "American" is to be born out of arrogance and will to dominate others, with a lot of lying and smugness in it, almost a psychopathology of owning, winning and authoritarianly not allowing to be accounted for - it seems the issue of the show today. At least DN! doesn't sell itself, anymore, as the ultimate warrior of truth and journalism. The "new left" media is as prostituted as the mainstream they depend on to dispute audience - who does need the most all conspiracies about Russia, Trump and China, those who created them or those who profit "debunking" them even after they are tiresomely worn out? The money and fame addiction it seems to be worse than that of sex and drugs. Wolves in sheep's clothing are worse than people you know the editorial choices and bias. Journalism and politics can't be treated as religious sects. If DN! is that bad why are you watching? To have some "dirty" to talk in the social media with those "new left" mobsters? Grow up and finish "high school" test for cheerleader. 😅 And try to challenge your bubble if you're so interested in truth, those who claim to have it must prove. The "new left" propaganda mob is as harmful to journalism and public debate than the ones they claim to oppose but actually depend upon to exist. Wheats and weeds everywhere. What is good and truthful won't come easy, only for the profiteers dressed as "good people" while stealing the widow. Dishonest people can't defend truth, it's a façade. We're in a time of breaking the Empire consent sealed after the 1970s, neoliberalism isn't only about economy, it broke the trend of debate and fights over colonialism and especially actions and popular demand for its deconstruction and reparation. Now the 1960s' trends of discussion/debate and civil/social mobilisation processes about freedom, justice and peace are back everywhere. Viva los hyppies! Capitalism, colonialism and racism - the evil machine tripod - are against the true human nature. But now it's Nature leading the uprising, that's why the evil machine will be defeated - did you see New Zealand wake up call flooding? The entirety of the film is the educational moment we need to put today into clear focus, in clear contrast with our personal hopes and dreams. The idea that this only happened during a brief epoch of American history is finally exposed for the lie it is. We continue to struggle with beliefs of separate and better, so deeply embedded in the American psyche - we encounter symbols, memes and colloquialisms each day of our lives to this day, continuing the lies we should have outgrown centuries ago. We cannot outrun the truth of the routine abuses of white supremacy. Now, we must acknowledge the use of white supremacy as a tool and each individual expression of supremacy is chaos and useful to multinational corporations, bankers including wall street manipulators and many politicians who throw up a smoke screen of chaotic supremacy to blind Americans from the theft of their democracy and money (taxes). Living and life is actually very simple until the perceived need of lies deceit and the cover-up becomes the normal and accepted/required reality.

Also commented upon in exterminate the brutes about 10 minutes in is the stereotype of predation on white women. What comes to mind though, is that there are hundreds of tribes in the world today that continue to practice wife kidnapping: that is, choosing your wife by kidnapping her against her will, after which she is culturally tainted and cannot be taken by another man. Mongolic and turkic horse tribes in Central Asia come to the forefront of the mind. Should we ignore the fact that many tribal societies have brutish attitudes towards women?

The key is remembering not to be like your great great grandfather. So history won't repeat itself just stop doing it .Life would be a better place for us all .Inhumanity has no place and no right .When its hidden it will repeat the same atrocities .The hate is real and still here and we know this .Truth will not let man's inhumanity to man be hidden The human race has a job to do is to never let it happen again .We know what happened let's make the world a better place by learning not to repeat its evil past, So we can heal Its a long road that must be taken for the future

It's more to remember the source of problems that have compounded over the generations into modern issues. Like how chattel slavery changed into sharecropping with Jim Crow, and later mass incarceration and rampant prison slavery. Because the evils of slavery were not widely condemned and undone, it kept evolving into new forms over time. Now prison slavery is a spreading problem across many races, and the opioid crisis has seen many white communities hollowed out and dragged into prison slavery or work houses pretending to be rehabilitation centers. You have to acknowledge and be aware of all the far reaching consequences of the past, because if you don't it continues to haunt the present in slightly changed forms.

Raoul Peck should look into French history of sexual violence in Africa during French reign. What's happening today in the US is just an extension of European philosophy i.e. preservation of purity of White Christian race. Civilization built for few with bones and bloods of a lot.
@Don-md6wn3 жыл бұрын
How do you know what history Peck has and hasn't looked into? His documentary didn't suggest the U.S. was unique in terms of white supremacy. He couldn't cover everything. If you listen to this interview and/or watch his documentary, he traces the origin of the idea of racial superiority to the Spanish Inquisition.

@@Don-md6wn You should do research on the similarities in tactics used by British occupation forces in India against the freedom seeking Indians during 1930s and 40s to the ones used by US government against Civil Rights movement during the 1960s, eerily similar. Apple doesn't fall that far from the tree. Some common discriminations faced were: 1. Forcing to make bus seats available 2. Separating taps for different demographic group 3. Preferential treatment: some pets had more privileges than most people.

@iain Mar Elohim did not tell European colonists to come to America and kill the indigenous peoples and take their land. Elohim did not tell Colonists in Israel to drop bombs over Palestine last month. Greed is the god and it is the image of the beast they worship.

I don't subscribe to any cable outlets so I'll have to see if there is a way I can just stream this one documentary.

I don't have a cable or satellite subscription, but I have a $30 Roku device I use with my TV to stream a subscription service or two. I currently have PBS for $5/month and HBO Max for $15/month. There's no contract with HBO Max, so if you are able to stream it you can pick up the service for a month and then cancel. They have a lot of good content.

This is the truth, all countries have evil in the past! Until we face up to it, we risk it happening again. The idea that people have no idea about this is patronising to say the least! We as people have a right to know how we got here and the best way to move forward in a better more positive way. Their have been changes but too slow. Let’s move it on much faster with the terrifying truth of the past.

Very true ! No nation on earth could advance towards a more " Morally civilized & Just" society, unless it gives recognition to its DARK PAST. Failure to do so, would only condone this as being ethically "Humane & Just" !!

The Visigoths were an early Germanic people who, along with the Ostrogoths, constituted the two major political entities of the Goths within the Roman Empire in Late Antiquity, or what is known as the Migration Period. The Visigoths emerged from earlier Gothic groups, including a large group of Thervingi, who had moved into the Roman Empire beginning in 376 and had played a major role in defeating the Romans at the Battle of Adrianople in 378. Relations between the Romans and the Visigoths were variable, alternately warring with one another and making treaties when convenient. Under their first leader, Alaric I, they invaded Italy and sacked Rome in August 410. Afterwards, they began settling down, first in southern Gaul and eventually in Hispania, where they founded the Visigothic Kingdom and maintained a presence from the 5th to the 8th centuries AD.
