Fort Stewart is under siege, under lockdown, and it's up to Sgt. Dennis Riley and the rest of USMC Force Recon "Red Light" to save the world from Extermination. A fun survival horror experience, Extermination brings us a solid story, exciting gameplay and a chance to LARP as a member of Team Red Light with our own custom SPR4 complete with attachments from the game. This video will tackle the whole game from start to finish, with some IRL anecdotes and footage of the SPR4 in action. Semper Fi!

I usually avoid game essay videos like the plague, but I just couldn't have not watched the CEO's take on some obscure PS2 horror game I've never seen before. And it was worth it. The jokes, silly larps, underbarrel flamethrowers apparently exist now - everything was impeccable. I sincerely hope this video blows up from a meager 350 views.

This looks like yet another "Dreamcast game canned at the last minute before hastily porting to PS2 to salvage expenditures, with only the minimum of upscaling and new features."

Duuuude, if you keep having this style of anecdotes and your life experience intersecting with games (much like Warlockracy, but his is translating Russian, as well explaining 20th/21st century Russian culture and context through a similar methodology--following along with a marrative approach from start to end included as well. You got this, loving the SPR4 breakdowns for an example.

Warlockcracy's videos are also great, seen most of them. The anecdotes and live action stuff is why I wanted to make a video on this game. If I can fit more of the same into another game, I'll probably do this again. It was extremely fun but I don't know how those other channels do it, this ate all my free time for like two months lol.

Awesome! Thanks for serving! Also if you have videos and pictures of your time in, save it all and make something out of it. I've been out for awhile, and going back and seeing all the good and stressful times is very cathartic, helps reconnect with some of your buddies you might not hear from. Great video! The Best review I saw from this game! You should do more videos like this. Having an actual Marine to talk about the guns just shows how much the devs cared about having a loyal depiction of the weapons.

was checking out a bunch of random ps2 games with my dad and this was one we played for maybe an hour. Was cool but that gas bit where you cant see 2ft in front of you was so obnoxious. Protagonist mogs though, 7/10 Also wanted to mention that this is really well made, hope to see more content like this in the future :)

I bet you already cought on to this but the foregrip seems to be a surefire m900 weapon light foregrip with some creative liberties. A ton of those types of foregrip laser/light combos were all over the place during the early to mid GWOT.

Yes! That's what I assumed as well, so I had two options; buy that grip and explain how it looks different, or just make a prop for the sake of it. The grip in game is definitely a product of creative liberty but what's the most curious is at 38:07 , the motion capture guy has the in-game grip. Guess they actually made a prop one lol. I've got lots of Surefire gear but the M900 is something that never clicked with me the way their other "retro" setups do.

Loved playing Extermination, this game truly showed what one determined Marine and his rifle can do. Sgt. Dennis Riley does the Corps proud. Great video.

@@splitlipceo6864 This does seem right up his alley, but you'd be surprised; homie also takes a while to hone his art. You should checkout Warlockracy as well if you haven't; the perfect upper-mid length (60 to 180 minutes) Vidya essayists combo for inspiration IMO is Grimbo + Warlockracy + Noah Caldwell-Gervais. I really think you'd love Warlockracy. His "Exploring Morrowind" playlist is a great start with lotta longer form and multivideo jokes, thematic storytelling and great editing conveying so much visually.

Important note for the final boss fight since I did this yesterday. The machine gun turret does not get destroyed when the blobs hit it. In the clip the red meter to the bottom left shows that the gun was overheated and needs to recharge for 30 seconds. After that time it is usable again so for the second phase where the boss is on the ship's platform you can still run around the upper deck even though it is partially destroyed and get to the machine gun placement. The second phase is infinitely easier ripping into the boss with the stationary machine gun. After that though you cannot get to it anymore. Also, this strategy is what got me to the end credits without having the rocket launcher. I missed the last security area with the 24 cell battery and the third component. By the way I can't tell you how long I got stuck trying to figure out how to get into that room through the ventilation duct to arm the second detonator. I thought my game was broken haha. Cheers

Beating the boss without the Missile Launcher is a feat of immense patience and skill, nicely done!! I’ve never been able to do that lol. That’s a good note about the turret, if it stayed usable for that long I’ll tell you that’s incredibly rare and lucky. I know that 1st cycle if you get lucky, you can use the turret humvee and never get hit, just takes like 20min lol.

Usually i get there with all the grenades cuz i use the knife a lot with the gunners, troopers and research staff, i use the rifle just with the dogs and bats

Bipedal monsters have opened spaces on their attack patterns but the first trooper we face at the elevator has a more advanced pattern than the rest of normal non-event monsters

Used to play this game with my cosuins all the tiem as a kid, games eriously underrated. While it is a resident evil clone its pretty cool, may jus tbe nostalgia tho. Also weird seeing the American version, the MC in the european version has a short haircut and all the soldiers have black armour too.

It's a very strange case of character overhaul between versions, I don't know why Deep Space did it the way they did. I haven't seen any other differences, are there any from what you've seen?

Hell yeah Extermination! I was too young and didn't understand english but I got through a decent chunk of the game. If you liked this one you might wanna check out Spy Fiction (which has the same writer) and Winback series too they're not horror but has that same vibe. Japanese way of doing cool western action never cease to amaze me.

Stellar, thank you for sharing! Yeah there was a comment on here where a few of us were searching, figured it out but they’re extremely rare and expensive if you find one. I saw a guy on HKParts(?) I believe who was selling his but that could’ve been an ancient post. Good luck on your build it’s an absolute blast getting it together. If you’re looking for an RX01 please make sure it’s legit and the lens is clear, I’ve been scuffed twice with broken stuff from eBay.

@@splitlipceo6864 Yeah I got my Trijicon acog reflex from a gun show with the filter. Only thing I noticed is that mine is a lower mount (old version?). I got it for a steal so I'm on my way. However I despise the a2 stock on the 14.5 (?) due to length so maybe I'mma try to see if anyone makes a shorter full stock or go with the a1.

Anyone else have trouble with the map system? the navigation in this game was the most difficult and most prominent part about it. Looking back on my playthrough from this weekend having beaten it yesterday all I can remember is where the hell am I going even though the map is pretty small overall

I should’ve been more clear that the map is useless, the glowing dot is the only indication of where to go there’s just never a route really shown. I think I brushed over it because I’ve played it so much I can draw Ft. Stewart from memory lol. It is a small facility overall and backtracking/exploration usually yields what you’re looking for in the end, just more time consuming. The most “where do I go?” spots would be the Command Center’s Main Lab and that last battery room.
