The bit with the Polish guys playing pool also explains when Jez is saying to Mark about "nearly twatting a geezer but turns out they were Polish" when he was out with Jeff

I’m a piano vocalist at a hotel in Chester. One night Robert comes into the bar (he was with Rufus Hound, they were filming ‘the wedding video’). I played ‘Flagpole Sitta’ and he gave me a wave and we had a nice brief chat afterwards. That was a good day.

I just want to clarify that the comment from David at 21:58 is referring to the character, in the script, looking that way. He isn't saying that an actress showed up and she looked bad, and that was why they cut that part. I realise it does kinda sound like that though...

I fucking love your content. I have the first several seasons memorized. But I do think you're over thinking some things... of course they both said Moist Eyed Camera Hogger - one situation this would happen is their late at night tv watching friendship where they do get on well and have inside jokes about tv and movies. They both would be calling him this... but so clever most likely Mark said it first and then Jez busts it out with Nancy later, tired of fucking RW he said the clever thing he heard Mark say like it was his own criticism.
@davidz25623 жыл бұрын
You should have said Mark rather than David - it's the character speaking.
@axw3 жыл бұрын
@@davidz2562 No it isn't. This is from the commentary track. It's David speaking, hence why I said it's David speaking. None of the commentary tracks are from the perspective of the characters, and I'm not sure why you'd think they were.

You were going to twat a geezer. What, were you playing the Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels video game?

I always thought the Mark cutting himself scene was a step too far. That could have been a deleted scene because it doesn't factor at all. Not only that -- it sets up a scene that isn't there! Mark says "Get a cup, catch the blood, and I'll write her a poem." So I thought for sure Mark writing Sophie a poem was a deleted scene but no???
@mankytoes3 жыл бұрын
I agree, it's too far. It would have been more fitting if he'd just talked about it.

@imanihekima165910 күн бұрын
There's no humour in the scene at all, except some very dark humour towards the end, perhaps. But unlike many sitcoms where the protagonists are there for us to laugh at, Peep Show from very early on had moments that elicit sympathy for Mark and Jez, as horrible as they can sometimes be as people. Perhaps that's why the writers allowed the scene to remain.
@jamesatkinsonja3 жыл бұрын
12:21 There is a great line from Nancy in this scene which I wish they had found a way to keep in: Jez: What about your savings? Nancy: Last week I felt so guilty I gave it all to UNICEF...and there being really f-ky about giving it back!

Jez could have impressed Zorah in Season 7 much more by mentioning "Il Postino" and "Passport to Pimlico" to her. ;-) It seems like the writers wanted to introduce Mark as a bit of a tennis buff in the first seasons. There was also the scene with the Who Am I? game at Toni's party when she immideately guesses Tim Henman after Mark mentions she got his choice. They only brought it back in the final season when they played doubles with April and Angus.

I like how they cherry-picked specifically bad Robin Williams movies. At that time, Nancy could have just as easily chosen Good Will Hunting, The Birdcage, Dead Poets Society, Aladdin, or Good Morning, Vietnam. However the best Robin Williams movie didn't come out til 2009: World's Greatest Dad
