10 years ago, I donated winnings from my professional gaming time to Child's Play and hearing this story made me so grateful that I did that. *tears* You see, I played guitar hero A LOT and was easily in the top 100 in the USA. I don't do professional gaming anymore and I'm not here to advertise myself, this was just one part of my life. What really strikes me about this story is that Jacob's first system was the Nintendo Wii. I know it's only coincidence, but the first tournament I won was at a convention called PAX, and the very first thing I donated was the Nintendo Wii I won from it and I got a lot of people in the gaming industry to sign the box (bad idea in hindsight, shoulda signed the console) at this convention called PAX. I'm not here to brag, I'm just here to say that I'm grateful that I did because of stories like this.

This, by the way, is why all games should be accessible
@schuhsuppe72285 жыл бұрын
You are right, but looking at how many kinds of illnesses there are: there is only so little someone can do to fullfill every wish
@iaknihs5 жыл бұрын
Gotta disagree. I do think a lot and probably even the majority of games should be accessible, but some games by the very idea they are based on can't be fun or even playable for everyone. Games heavily relying on math aren't accessible to everyone for example, just because Dyscalculia exists doesn't mean games that heavily rely on being able to quickly work with large quantities of numbers should never exist. Not everyone will like them, not everyone will be able to play them at all, but they can still have value for those who can play them. So as a whole, I think it's more important that there is a large variety of games. Very accessible ones, very inaccessible ones, games that are just fun, scary, even boring games. With a large enough variety, everyone should be able to find something to suit their particular interests and needs.
@fgregerfeaxcwfeffece5 жыл бұрын
@@schuhsuppe7228 Agreed, but that's exactly why artificial barriers like intrusive/online DRM make me so angry. Just see games for Windows Live as reference for the "never hurts paying customers" lie their apologetics spout. Or securom... Hints: games for Windows Live shut down and made all of the games unplayable. Securom is incompatible with win10 for security reasons.
@captainsnake85155 жыл бұрын
iaknihsX2 the point of Celeste was almost nearly to be an incredibly hard platformer. They still managed to make an assist mode while not ruining the game. Games should absolutely be all accessible.

Stay strong Jacob. Can someone explain to me any issues that may be caused by mirrored organs?
@elijahdage55235 жыл бұрын
I'm not an expert, but from what I know there aren't any. It's just more complicated to do surgery since everything is weird.
@Tam-vj1jr5 жыл бұрын
In the odd case someone with Situs Invertus needs an organ transplant, operations become more difficult as the majority of organ donors are non-mirrored. Linking up the right vessels to a heart for example would be more difficult if the heart isn't mirrored like the patient.
@CatholicWeeb5 жыл бұрын
It's just weird and harder for surgeons, no symptoms though
@rainbowosprey16194 жыл бұрын
Mostly just annoying for surgeons, unless some are mirrored but others aren’t.
@LordBloodySoul4 жыл бұрын
As far as I know, there is not much physical issues, but medical ones. Mostly for surgery and stuff. But I have heard from a friend of mine, who's a doctor, that inverted organs can sometimes come with some internal pain during growth, due to cellular mutations and stuff. But that seems to be pretty rare.

I was in the hospital a lot as a kid. Child's Play would have been great back then, that's why I support them now. I know from personal experience how kids like Jacob can have more enriched experiences from games, and Child's Play helps with that (and more, they also provide books, movies, and toys). If you're an executive of a hospital, and you have to decide to budget between an expensive, life-saving device, or stuff for kids, you're gonna choose the device. Child's Play helps to fill those gaps for kids.

(0:12) Good on you to actually specifying it was ASL, and not just "sign language". It would be like saying "they spoke a foreign language", as there are many sign languages. - Saying they transcribed it was weird, they actually translated it. It's like saying someone transcribed the Russian language so you could understand it, which wouldn't make any sense unless you're familiar with Russian already.
