And the story of the kingdom of Majapahit finally continues! The Mongol forces came to the island of Java--the King of Singhasari had defied them for too long. But they were VERY unprepared to reckon with the clever and cunning Raden Vijaya...

@r31ya6 жыл бұрын
Basically 2 family killing each other and taking turn on being the current ruler. Legend has it that Ken Arok, the throne unsurper, ask a blacksmith Kebo Ijo to forged a blade to kill the current ruler of singasari and take his throne and his wife. Unfortunately the blacksmith is behind schedule and that enraged Ken Arok which then kill the blacksmith with the unfinished blade. In his dying moment, the blacksmith cursed the blade, "that blade will kill 7 generation of your bloodline". Well, Ken Arok ignore the warning and kill the king with the blade, take his throne and his wife. But the king son still alive and sometime later get his revenge and kill Ken Arok, legend has it with the same Unfinished blade. Later Ken Arok son did the samething to the king son and again later the king grandson kill ken arok son and so on for 7 generation as the curse fulfilled... The legend part is the blade curse, and the 7 generation killing each other is historical fact.

Once you guys are done with the Majapahit Empire, could you possibly do the Kongo Empire. Its a really cool kingdom that stretched from southern Gabon to northern Angola, from the coast to the Kwango river. Most people don't really know about central Africa before colonization, and it was a large trading Empire with several factions and royal dramas much like the Majapahit. @@TheFiresloth true, but artifacts and oral accounts do show it had history before contact, just to what extent is unclear to say. It was stated to have formed around 1390(a hundred years before the Portuguese) and lasted as an independent state until 1891, when it was split between Portugal, France, and King Leopold of Belgium. They, and their neighbors Kuba, Lunda, Luba, and Ndongo, were known for metalworking and raffia cloth textiles throughout central Africa. I don't know everything myself, and I'm fuzzy on the details, which is why I recommended it. You are right though, in the most studied and interesting part of Kongo's history is after Portuguese contact. And I'd love a feature on the Chirstian Kings, as Christianity in Africa is often regarded as solely spreading only after the Scramble.

Mongols never succeed conquer java, only few of them went back to china after backstabbed by Raden Vijaya, Including their 2 generals (then punished by kublai khan). So its not accomplished at all. This made khan very upset. did mongols never came back? Of course they did! But they always lose battle in the sea cz majapahit later on had warships named "jung java" a great ship double sized than europe ship lead by navy admiral Arya Nala Mandalika the righthand of general Gajahmada (well, mongols without horse plus in the sea is nothing) In java, politics and power are very intrigue so many betrayal and vengeance. Just like Games of throne
