@projectpat88074 жыл бұрын
@@CheddyC, I think it was really him. This movie never really used hallucinations and stuff like that throughout the rest of the movie or before the final shot. Closest they came was doing that flashback of Chris Hemsworth's son, but it was all done in Hemsworth's head. He wasn't hallucinating his son at any point and not projecting out to the battlefield. He just kept going back to that one time in his head. And this is pretty much like an 80's movie. They aren't known to have symbolism or literature analysis type stuff. What I think happened was offscreen Nik (that woman character on Hemsworth's team) sent a team to go recover him. She seemed to care about him and didn't want to leave his body behind. So she sent a team to recover him and they were able to revive/save him. He probably just passed out from loss of blood and all the pain. The way I look at the movie, the boy was pretty much trying to be a fresh start for Hemsworth character. Hemsworth was fighting an inner demon about his son dying. So when he supposedly died, the old him "died." Then once he recovered and stuff, he decided he would become some proper father figure to the boy. Possibly even adopt him. Him showing up at the end was to let the boy know he found peace and was ready to move on, plus be a father figure to the boy.

@@stack5960 Tyler wanted to die because he was in grief. But Ovi might have changed his mind or has given him a reason to live. Spoiler alert - The first scene where tyler jumps into water, says that he has practiced staying inside water for long. And if he had to die, he would have died on the bridge itself. Why would he jump into the water. After he was shot in the neck, he sees ovi crying for him and he smiles at him. According to me Tyler lives somehow, but i dont understand about his blood loss.

I actually didn't like the open-ended/ambiguous ending, especially for this type of movie and when it's related to the main character. I'm not a fan of main characters/protagonists dying. So I would've liked a clear answer if Hemsworth was really still alive or dead and they had some spirit/ghost show up. But since I prefer positive endings, I'm going with he is still alive. I could see Nik (the woman character that worked with Hemsworth) having a team recover him after the boy was taken to safety. Then they were able to save/revive him in time before he actually died from blood loss and everything else. I'm thinking maybe he just passed out from blood loss and the amount of pain he must've been feeling, but they got to him in time. But I would've liked a clear answer on if he was alive or dead and that was just a spirit/ghost that showed up. And I'm not expecting an Oscar worthy type movie here. This was just supposed to be a "fun" and "dumb" movie. No need for an open-ended movie. If I want open-ended/ambiguous ending, I'd go watch a Christopher Nolan movie. Like Inception.

I believe with any movie created, the powers-that-be are not for sure if the movie will be a financial success. That being said ... If the movie was not a hit, the ending is left up to the viewer for their own interpretation on whether or not he was alive at end. If a financial success, this leaves room for him to be alive for the sequel.

People giving reviews and complaining that it has no plot. The title IS the plot. It's EXTRACTION OF the kid from the enemy gang. The movie isn't titled "Tyler Rake" needing to give a back story on the protagonist. It's literally just take the kid, kill people and go home. Why is that so hard to understand. @pmadood69704 жыл бұрын
I think he fell off the bridge on purpose because it seems the movie has a "drowning" theme, or some type of "water" theme. He could have felt like he was drowning in his own sorrow for losing his kid. And drinking alcohol makes you feel like you're drowning out all the negative things. Him diving underwater and meditating in the beginning. And then when he gets shot in the neck he's literally drowning in his own blood so he fell into the water because he couldn't breathe any ways. It could've been a contrast too, in all the violence he had a peaceful death because being under water calmed him. I don't know I could be wrong, but that's some deep shit if they did that intentionally.

That one take scene mid movie. Ugh! From that awesome car chase to the gun fight in an apartment complex. It was perfection. The director Sam Hargrave and of course the Russo brothers really made one of the best action films in this God forsaken year of 2020. Cheers mate!

Loved it. I felt that the end was more figurative than literal with Hemsworth standing poolside. He never told Ovi about his jumping into the water and sitting at the bottom - which is probably something he did many times. I believe, as is said in the video, Ovi saw a strength and Father figure in Rake that he emulated even if Rake didn't see that in himself. I kind of like the idea of him being dead at the end of the movie. He was a broken man kind of like a Ronin - seeking something or someone worth giving his life for. He can't get over the cowardice he sees in his own mind and heart and seeks a hero's death. Give it to him and let's pull in another actor to do a sequel taking a new team in a completely different direction.

There's one piece of dialogue KEY to the ending. The Boy said something profound that Deeply touched Hemsworth. He said, "It's not whether you fall into the river, but whether you stay submerged..." This speaks to both Hemsworth's character letting go of sorrow, as well as speaking to the out of focus silhouette. Hemsworth's character saved the boy, and the boys words were what pushed Hemsworth to "swim himself out.." i.e. Not give up. I believe because of the focus made when the boy and him were bonding, as well as the look Hemsworth had when he first jumped in the quarry seemingly debating if he should take that large inhale to end his life strongly written on his face. Lastly, When the boy shared this phrase to Hemsworth's character, they made a point to have Hemsworth's attention peaked, immediately asking "where did you hear that..." That's how I interpreted the movie. I can understand the "seeing an out of focus image as a metaphor or symbolism resulting of the actions Hemsworth's character sacrificed for the boy being now a part of him.." But then all the aforementioned points I mentioned would hold little to no substance. Also, as a veteran military man, he knew his chances were better to let the extraction leave, than to try and hobble to the helicopter. So there's also tact involved in why he decided to roll back off the bridge.

The only way Tyler could have got away with everything was to fake his death anyway ! That's probably what he does with all his mission !! That's why he was jumping off cliffs and practicing holding his breath because falling in to rivers 🤷 'certain death' it was all planed out ! The kid had to show a real and meaningful reaction or else he would have been found and captured !

@MeesterGonzalez4 жыл бұрын
I agree with your latter version of what the very last scene meant. To me, just as the jump into the pool and sitting at the bottom evoked Rake's way of coping with pain and life, the vision of Rake looking over him was like Rake's dealing with the loss of his son, and seeing him blurred out---until the time he was passing over.

Coming from a person who is not a die hard fan of action movies, this was amazing. Worth the time, keeps you engrossed in it totally. The way physical turbulence is depicted alongside the emotional turmoil is another level. The action sequences are great and loved the way they focused on little things and gave us insight to the internal conflicts of the characters. Loved each one of the actors, they did justice to everything. ❤

I'm thinking that offscreen Nik (the woman that worked with Tyler/Hemsworth) sent a team to go recover him after the boy was safe and the helicopter was far from the battlefield. She seemed to care about him too much to leave him behind. So once the kid was safe, she sent a team in to recover him and then they were able to revive/save him and got to him before he actually died. Maybe he just passed out while falling. She could've already called it in to go get him and they were already going to recover him before the kid got on the helicopter. But yeah. I'm pretty sure they got to him before he actually died and they were able to save him and stuff. Everything just happened offscreen.

What if the boy suicide from the pool and wake up with tyler like in the scene because ovi said he just play piano not swimming sports? Or Just like tyler he always see the memory of his son but its blurred like ovi in the end he si tyler and its blurred maybe its just a very important memory for him thats why he is having tyler in his vision but blurred. When Tyler died he finally see the memory of his son very clear but ovi's vision is blurred maybe his not going to die yet thats why its not cleared
