My favourite part of this is how Bowie initially comes off as sympathetic to Millman (Gervais) when listening to him confide about his show, but then out of nowhere just blurts "little fat man who sold his soul". Gets me everytime.

I think what really sells this is the lack of any overt malice on Bowie's part. He's just doing what artists do: taking in what's going on around him, processing it, and then using it to create. It's not personal. Throw in Gervais, who portrays a perpetual victim as well as anyone alive, and you've got comedy gold.

@@krystofhanzlik7592 haha seriously. it is full of offensive and direct insults and they say "no overt malice"? just because they are in a song doesn't make them any less offensive to the person being talked about...in this case it would be way more humiliating than him just saying it because he gets the whole party singing along. it's a great scene but part of the joke is that bowie is playing himself as a complete dick.

My favorite part is at 3:00 into the video. Bowie adds the, "Yeeeaaah...". Funny stuff. Besides, the man ain't even fat.. making it funnier.
