I know what it's like seeing that much Wolf sign and not connecting, very frustrating! Looking forward to seeing a couple strung up in your next video!

Should be dragging bait on last sled. If you get some big cans of cat food scatter some of it along trail. Leave the cans when woof start eating it then set for um. They will play with the cans like a frisbee

We both drag stuff and take turns leading throughout the day. Tuck was dragging a half beaver carcasses most of the day.. also anything that is not natural to them they avoid like the plague.. I dropped a fish carcasses and they went around it.. didn't even get close

Yes. Our sent don't really seem to bother them as much here for what ever reason. At my parents farm on the other hand. If they smell you they are gone the other way. Also when we set traps for the wolves we are using clean gloves. And with the temps we have been having there no sweat or moisture to help transfer the smell. How ever we never cross a wolf trail where we have sets always set from side of trail. I will always set perpendicular to m trail. The creek is a exception it over flows so much I have no problem walking on there trail as will be gone in a day or two

If you have any extra traps, you might try adding a second one a foot or so away. Those trap pans are small, double your chances.

If you wear a helmet you never get cold and you never frost up. When you take the helmet off you put on your neoprene mask and snow goggles. Where I come from everyone wears helmets and everyone's snowmobiles all night warm. For some reason in Canada and Alaska people don't wear helmets and try to bundle their heads up and freeze. I'm going to give away free helmets soon so you guys try them because you have brand new sleds and no helmet. They sell helmets too haha! The number one cause of snowmobile death in Alaska is hitting your head on the ice so I don't know why you don't also wear them for safety. I've been an Alaskan for 2 years and I travel through Canada and it's really sad watching you guys freeze. Children frost bite their faces and their mothers tell them to put snot on their face. They even sell helmets that you can talk to each other between the speakers. Peace

When I ride anywhere but on my trap line I wear a helmet. I need to turn my head and I need my peripheral vision and a helmet takes that away. Other wise yes helmets are awesome and have a great purpose. Also my speed on the trapline is generally under 5mph and my average speed over the line is only about 3mph.

@@outdoorsalaska okay, I'm glad! I just feel bad for people and I've been going to hand out free helmets for many years I'm just still laid up LOL I have an old 1986 snowmobile but you can bet your bottom dollar I have a new helmet, heehee. Some of these guys don't even wear snowmobile helmets booking it across the ice...like dang I'd freeze... My kill switch has also saved me before because we've all rolled our sleds on ourselves... For some reason people are too cool for helmets or kill switches but then they end up frozen or with a cracked skull and that's not very cool 😎

@@outdoorsalaska the neoprene masks they sell that go over your face and then the area over your neck, ears and head is like a fleece are nice because they turn with your head... The neoprene masks that velcro behind your head do not turn with your head..You can also tie a bandana over the mouth holes and let it hang down over neck like a cowboy would on a cattle drive to block the trail dust .. it keeps the wind out of your mouth holes n off your neck.. you get a little bit of frost on the end of the nose piece but on those neoprene masks that nose piece sticks out pretty far... Then I wear two stocking hats one thinner fleece hat and one Carhartt type over it.. If I'm bow hunting or ice fishing I have full view.. I don't like wearing hoods because of how it can block your vision and the wind just goes right inside your hood.. I'm sure there are different types of helmets but I can see my full peripheral in my snowmobile helmet.. some people try to get away with wearing Motocross helmets or motorcycle helmets but snowmobile helmets are made with a tab on your visor that is opposite your throttle thumb and they have a different breath exchanger along with a warm padded chin strap... I'm sure you know that but just for other people who read this snowmobile helmets are definitely made different.. I've always hunted alone in up to - 40 and I snowmobile in -50 and I've always stayed warm and hope y'all do too 🌎

I agree. However. With the right fixes before they go out there not bad. Good for only 1 or 2 catches before they get bent up though
