I'm glad you guys were out of the chunky rock area when the rains arrived. It would have been cool to see the hail and heavy rains! My husband noticed many standing dead trees at the tree line, I wonder why the park service and our government want EV offroad vehicles or any battery hybrid Jeep on these trails, if the battery was to catch on fire it would cause a huge forest fire. When an EV ignites on a highway, the firemen have to let it burn, once these batteries go up in flames it's very difficult to put out the fires. Awesome adventure!! All the Best to both of You.

Great video! We spent a week last summer wheeling in the BV area and didn't scratch the surface as there was so much to do and see. Didn't do Mt. Antero last summer, but plan to next summer, so your video is great to see what we are in for. Thanks!

I did this trail a few years ago. It wasn’t particularly hard but hold your attention not only because of the views but the narrow road. The road to Baldwin lake scared the crap out of me though. I don’t think it was really all that but perception has a lot to do with it. It was off camber and raining and I chickened out. I didn’t want to see the bottom of the hill by rolling down it.

Another great video!! Obviously you are used to the altitude!! In 2020 I drove through the night from Yellowstone right to Pikes Peak. Bad idea! The altitude and exhaustion kicked my ass!! 😂

Mostly anyway...we live at 5,200' but we are in the mountains a lot so we are pretty used to it these days. In our next adventure video, we camped at 12,000'.

Did that Ram have a flat? Seems like they should have at least tried to move it closer to the side of the trail

The axle shaft broke. They certainly could have moved it a few feet to get out of the way.

@@TrailTraveler I see. I wheel my 08 ram and have broken at least two cv axles. I rebuilt my entire rear end on my kitchen table with no pulleys or presses. The rear axles are only held in with a c clip. If you break a rear you can literally pull the whole wheel off with the remaining axle attached. They are pretty beefy I'm surprised it broke, that trail doesn't seem that difficult. The front CV are the weak point on the rams.

What is that "fundraiser" just below the title about?
@TrailTraveler
@TrailTraveler 11 күн бұрын
That is a fundraiser for The Blueribbon Coalition. They are taking legal action against different agencies to help keep trails open, re-open closed trails, and protect our rights to use public lands. You can learn more at blueribboncoalition.org

Are you legally allowed to forage mushrooms you see on trails/passes? Or even pick wildflowers and other flora you see? Or is like the concept of "leave no trace" and disturb nothing? -- BR
@TrailTraveler
@TrailTraveler 11 күн бұрын
@@billredding2000 yes, you are allowed to pick mushrooms in certain locations like BLM land. That’s like asking if leave no trace means you shouldn’t fish there either even though the lakes are stocked for that purpose.

Thanks for another great video, Kerry. You continue to up your game with your cinematography, editing and narration. Also, really good find with the porcini mushrooms. Those are choice!
