I have to say she is the lucky one. All the new home they are building in my area I live in North Carolina are tall like 2 or 3 stories, but very little yard. Older houses like hers have the big yards and basements. Some new homes have basements.

This made me feel so much better about the mess I need to attack in my basement. Sometimes the shame is overwhelming. Seeing someone else dive in and attack a mess like this, and post it for all to see really gave me strength to face my own Battle of the Stuff! Thanks for being a light, Jamerrill!

Yes. Jamerrill is my hero! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I totally had a move like that where my blessed friend came over with her 6 kids. Teens went to work on packing the basement- no time to organize. They signed the boxes they packed😂 finally after a few years living here, opened the last one or two boxes and mostly and trash inside! Those stinkers have a sense of humor😂I love them. It feels like you’ll die letting people see it but then you realize everyone has something! 🥰

What a light you are! You never seem too overwhelmed or stressed you just take it all as it comes do the layers with all the things! You relax me watching and listening to your processing and I relate so much. One thought becomes 10 and you have to circle back whist jabbering on. In my next life I want to be a hard working farm digging American blond bombshell with my free range kids and little ranch going all going on! Bliss! (I don’t think for a second there’s not times you wana just pull your hair out we all do!) your so good at sending a positive message through your videos. It’s hard to find ❤️

This is a baby pile compared to our family's stuff. We have 2, yes 2, storage units about 3 miles apart. Our goal is to clear them both out and donate/trash/keep and take to home. Please pray for us to have patience between hubby and myself. Lol.

You can do it! It is HARD. We have walked both sets of parents through this. In 2007, my husband was accepted to Moody Bible in Chicago. We had to downsize and get rid of almost everything. We went from 3 storage units, a full 2200 square foot home down to a 325 square foot apartment. It is possible. Then we did another move while in the city. Down to a 150 square foot apartment. When we finally were done with school, we sold everything (minus books, tools, and clothes) and moved home. It was a relief to have nothing. Now we are 8 years out of Chicago. The piles are starting again, and we have added kiddos. This is my goal by the end of summer break to have them gone. You have my prayers.

@@jenniferjones3037 I love Moody! I listen to the Grand Rapids Moody radio station every day. We will pray for each other! If it's been in storage for over 2 years, how much do we really need it. :-)

Our family had a storage unit for 5 years and we finally decided last year that we were not going to pay for this anymore. Both of our grown children needed to get their stuff and choose what to do with it, we sold some stuff, threw away and saved only a few things needed for a new grand baby. What a relief!!! We wasted all that money for storing things that weren’t worth much! Five years times $50 per month equals $3,000!!!

We freeze like you do, currently we have 75 cubic feet of freezer storage, into that goes 1 cow (large breed) 14 lambs, 20 pigs, 150 chicken, mixed other poultry and whatever fish/lobsters/crab we catch. Chest freezers are out in the workshop, uprighs are in the house. Bulk goes in the chest freezers & I just restock the uprights from them when I need to. Need to get another 21 cubic feet this year to cope with my increased veg growing

The one thing I have learned is you cant take it with you! Once this life is other there is no uhauls following you to the resting place. I have been married 42 years and after 9 kids and 20 grandchildren I have lots. If one of my daughters or grandkids are eyeing something I hand it over. It is a memory for them now. I keep lots of kids art and frame it. I have keepsake boxes for the grandchildren. You cant have a large family without a large mess. It just means we live here. Loved your video. ❤

No shame in your game. My hubby and I cleaned our basement for about 5 days scattered in the month of march. In our house 29 years (about same size and layout as yours a little smaller but we only have 5 people in it. 4 know that oldest is launched). Lots of shelves really helps. The space for your canning food looks spectacular. YOU MOVED DURING A PANDEMIC JAMERRILL I BOW DOWN TO YOU!!!! You have accomplished so much. You a true inspiration. Hugs brenda from ohio. I only see what you have done not what you havnt. I try to live by that too, but it's hard to tell yourself that sometimes.

Congratulations on getting some much of the basement cleared out! That was alot. Looking so much better. If I could make a suggestion for the interim while you are deciding how to use your basement space. Get some very sturdy shelves so you can get as much stuff off the floor as possible. I am thinking about possible flooding and how much you could lose in a bad flood. I can't remember if you said you had a sump pump/flood control system, I kinda think you did mention that. But getting in the habit of keeping things up off the floor is a good one to get into. Growing up we lost alot during repeated floods. My Mom had a flood control system installed, but when a bad storm started and we lost electricity the pump did not work except manually and my Mom did not know that. We lost alot of stuff that time. Whenever it started to rain she had all six of us run down and get everything off the floor. Her own "flood control system"! Her goal was to have everything at least a foot or more off the floor. It worked. We never had a problem after that.

I moved 3 years ago. Left behind a wonderful gas range and had to start cooking on a glass top. Up until COVID hit, I was afraid to use my All American canner on it. Maybe the quarantine affected my thought process but I decided “If it breaks, I’ll get a coil top but I’m canning!” So far no problem but I have not double stacked my jars. Just remember to lift not drag the canner on the stovetop,

Chest freezers work really well for storing bulk meat. With 3 you can designate each for different type of meat. I found it to be super helpful to tape a list of what's in each freezer on top so you know what you have. Then mark off as you take out or add on as you store more.

You could set up a dedicated homeschool area down there. You are blessed to have such a huge area to make your big family a lot of room to spread out. I love your new house.

I love the "hall wire" writing on that board!! My mom has officially listed our childhood home on the market, and last year I too went around (with pencil, inside the ceilings/walls) labeling the breaker box, some of the switches, the wiring, the diff pipes (when we redid the bathrooms & kitchen) etc, for our contractors and/or for the new owners 😀

As a Lowe’s appliance dept employee I can fully attest that freezers are a rare find. 🤣 Even to order them its estimated delivery is February / March in Florida.

They are backordered almost a year out?! That’s crazy. I just went into a Home Depot and 80% of their fridges were on back order at any store in a 100 mile radius.

Magic Chef is headquartered in my hometown. It’s actually Whirlpool now but we only by those two brands and have had great luck with all their appliances. Your food storage is inspiring.

That's awesome you have a fireplace in the basement!! Thanks for keeping it real. Something has to give when your busy with other things ( like running a small farm😘).

j Kalb - I’m so inspired to clean out my whole basement now and see if there’s a space for a fireplace- gas or wood. In the 🇨🇦 winter it’s just not cozy down there. And as Jamerell says the heat rises.

I think having more smaller freezers is an awesome idea. As you use the food down you could condense into fewer freezers and turn off empty ones not in use.

We keep our cow order in a chest freezer, I organize it with some bags (steaks together, ground meat together, roasts together) makes it a little easier when I’m looking for something and keeps everything from shifting so much when you take something out. :)

In January I happened to have bought a 7 cubic foot freezer. I had it filled before COVID happened. I am very thankful that I had bought it when COVID hit. I live alone. I really enjoy your videos. I like the idea. I do it in mini. I will make three small meatloafs. I eat one and freeze the other two. My freezer was only 150.00, but this was before COVID hit.

I’m so glad you are so real😭! When I’m doing videos like cleaning videos, etc I always feel like I need to clean to clean because other houses lol impeccable to begin with. Mine is like crust and crumbles and papers in the floor. I mean REALLY cleaning over here lol. So seeing you be big and be real is the best motivation to me.

My freezer stopped working several years ago. I called Lowes on the 3rd of June and ordered a 15 cubic foot Maytag freezer. They said it might take several months to come but set up a delivery date on June 27th. I'm so excited to say that my new freezer was delivered on June 27th.
