As someone who went through having meals brought round for around a year(my 4year old had cancer), if you can take food in disposable containers, that is a huge bonus. Otherwise you have to keep straight what dishes belong to who, as well as having a huge pile of dishes sitting until you are able to return them

Very true. Jamerrill often cooks for new moms or those who are not able to due to illness. She is showing her children by example about helping people. You know what else is real good to fry them up in butter. Smash them down and sprinkle them with salt pepper & parsley. It’s called Parsley potatoes.

The broth is gluten free. You can use it without problems. The oats are just regular oats that were processed in a factory with out gluten. As long as something doesn’t say wheat in the ingredients, it’s ok.

We finally gave up on Walmart orders here in Alberta, Canada. Number one, couldn’t get a delivery or pickup for a month! Two, they had nothing in stock. Finally went in the old the fashioned way after standing in line for 45 minutes with people who couldn’t figure out the social distancing/pandemic thing, only to find that the entire store had been picked over like we were in an apocalypse! I’m amazed at the selection you seem to have for groceries there, we’re still dealing with supply issues here, which equals $8 for a little jar of the only salsa in the local grocery store! Peppers are $1.39 a lb. here, ridiculous! Haven’t been able to find those bags of little mixed veggies for 3 months now! Just ranting!

I put sliced canned potatoes in a skillet with butter and fry them up with paprika,pepper, and salt. my mom learned to make this when she had to get food from a food pantry. she would get these canned potatoes and have no idea what to do with them and one day she threw that together and liked it and ive eaten it my whole childhood.

You know all the people talk about things we buy or put in our carts,all about saving foods for other people and im with that but when you already have a sizable family and your also helping other families then our carts or orders are larger than most! I always like to have a lil extra in case someone runs into a need for a meal that i can help out with! So if we all keep that in mind when we see other shoppers maybe we shouldn't automatically jump to their hoarding,but they might be helping and kets stick with that! The GF brownie mix and pasta are just as good as the OG. Haven’t tried other things, but wanted to put that out there for those who are curious. My daughter was allergic to wheat as a child, so we had to dip into the GF arena. Thankfully, she’s grown out of all that.

Clean grapes off the vines can be frozen on a tray then put in zipper bags or containers in the freezer. Talk about a refreshing treat on a hot summer day! Your kids will love them and so will you.

Ground beef at Walmart has been so expensive in my area.. it was $2 cheaper per pound to get ground beef at Whole Foods! Also picked up a lot of fruits and veggies at Whole Foods that were cheaper than Walmart. Hooray for that!

Omigosh I had exactly the same issues several times with my ASDA Order (ASDA is Walmart in the UK). I had EXACTLY the same issues. Item not saying out of stock but then I check out and a ton of items vanish. So I’d go in and re edit and the more vanished. This last order I actually sat and cried, my husband said “what on earth” and I just said “I just want to get what I bloody order!” Unfortunately I cannot go shopping because I am shielded, my husband was fired from shopping because he stresses me out too much. I make a meal plan, give him a list, including sizes, brands, and I write the list in store order. But I swear to you, he just kills me! He sees salad on the list, his brain says “I prefer canned beans, I’ll buy those”. I put a trash bags, he decides he once saw some in the kitchen cupboard once, so we don’t need those.... turns out he saw them like 3 years ago I write bread, he decides pizza base is is bread, I’ll get pizza (I do not eat pizza) I write ladies monthly items and he says he was too embarrassed cos there were ladies on the aisle... 🙄 Weirdly he never messes up the beer n snacks aisle... strange that. He will arrive home proudly announcing he spent £100 less than I said it would be... but he has no fruit, no salad, chicken breasts became fish sticks and he thinks 1 loaf is enough to last a family 2 years... I end up re writing an extremely weird and stressful meal plan and we have to eat sausages with ice cream (because he didn’t even get frozen veg, but ice cream was on offer so he bought the entire freezer) and Cheetos... and he says “sounds good to me” So I end up in pieces trying to order everything he didn’t bring and the entire month costs us more than it would have if he’d stayed on list. So he was banned from shopping, and I’m unsure whether I married an eejit, or the sneaky bugger just managed to avoid the grocery store...

Gluten free for 10+ years. The best GF tortillas are just traditional corn tortillas. Super economical and pure ingredients. It’s important to know how sensitive your gluten free eaters are. Some people who are wanting to reduce most GF foods might still eat soy sauce (contains a bit of fermented wheat) or standard oatmeal (oats don’t contain gluten but the blades are “floured” with traditional gluten flour to make them cut the oats smoothly) some people wouldn’t be able to tolerate either... There are so many hidden sources in processed food. Walmart is a huge provider of processed foods. So you might find more products at natural foods markets like Wholefoods, Trader Joe’s and even Costco carries many great options as well. Hope this helps ♥️

Jamerrill, I have the same problem with my Walmart! You are not alone! I have been super frustrated and have totally given up because they will limit what you can get on the grocery pick up or they will say they are out altogether. Then when you go inside the store they are loaded up and there are no limits. So I won't use that pickup anymore either!

I've had the same frustration with Walmart's online ordering for the past few months😪. Thanks for this grocery haul. Your break down on the cost per meal isn't bad. I am gluten and dairy free and cook for my diabetic husband. So meal planning isn't always easy. Though, I do love the variety of gluten free items at Aldi, and the prices. I am prepping some meals and freezer meals for my cousin and her kids (my God Children). She broke her wrist and I do not want her to worry about cooking for a while.
