Your room looks lovely. I am in my 60’s and went on a journey 7 years ago of downsizing our whole house. I just have to say something about your big tub of sentimental things. By the time you are my age at the rate you are saving you’ll have a garage full of tubs. When my kids got places of their own they all three wanted nothing I had saved for them. Try to cut down what you save now so you won’t be moving it from house to house like I did only to get rid of nearly all of it in 40 years. We also had to get a shorter bed to keep our dog from hiding under it.

This advice is really helpful for me thanks. After my mum passed away I found loads of childhood certificates for swimming and all sorts. I know she/we must have been proud at the time, but 30 years on, and I'm faced with shredding them all to make space for my little boys certificates (he is 2).

Although I understand why Declutter videos are so inspirational for a lot of people, one of the things that I find alarming is the fact that most people just throw away things to make space for new stuff. I notice that you've been into natural and sustainable products and that's why I believe it is important that we realize that our consuming habits are what harms the planet the most. I highly recommend you to watch Netflix documentary "the true cost" and also "minimalism". They really make you rethink and reflect. Great job btw!

My body changed so much after I had my daughter! A year later and my hips/butt are what they are now! I finally went through today and cleaned out my clothes and donated them. It really does feel amazing, and less pressure to be the size I once was? If that makes sense. Also yay for thrifting! Environmentally friendly!!

YES! it was a lot of pressure looking at all of my old clothes and constantly trying to "fit" back into them. it felt really nice to donate them. So inspiring 🙌 Looks amazing, such a lovely space. I'm working my way through my house decluttering, reorganising and cleaning, we've sold a bunch of stuff and donated even more also just thrown out and recycled loads, it's such a good feeling. I've been doing the easy bits but things are going to start getting real when I have to tackle the harder rooms. Dust is real life, we all have it, no shame girl.

I dectuttered my dresser and ended up donating up to 4 garbage bags full of clothes and still had a full dresser left. It's amazing how you can build up so much clothes and not even notice.

It really really is crazy, right! I’ve donated over 20 bags of clothes this year along and still have way too much. It’s a huge eye opener for me to realize how I need to stop binge shopping :)

I think this is what kids do to you. you accumulate stuff as an adult and kind of don't notice until the tiny human comes with ALL of the STUFF! It really makes you take a look at everything. We KonMaried our entire house last year before we moved and I agree...it feels so so good. So happy for you that you are feeling that relief of having less! Also, good luck with your return to work, it will be wonderful and different and you will be a rockstar workin' momma!
