@mewichigo217944 жыл бұрын
From what I know of grocery stores currently, they don't allow you to complete a transaction with a negative balance. They make you pick up something to at least get it to zero. I'm not sure if they ever allowed for the customer to be paid money.
@lilypayton32424 жыл бұрын
The manufacturers that create the coupons pay the store back for any loses the grocery store has so the grocery store doesn’t loose any money what’s so ever. So no robbery here the store technically didn’t have a policy set up to pay her the 31 cents so she left with everything free. Imagine working that hard to get free groceries they probably applaud her besides the clerk anyways😂.

I live in Canada and in my province (I think every province has these rules too, not sure) coupons have much stricter rules- you will never (or rarely- if the coupon manufacturer allows it) get a free product out of a coupon. You either choose the sale price or the coupon price because in fine print it states that you can only use one or the other. America is a wild place where you can get stores to pay YOU for taking majority of their stock😂

i started couponing this year at end of Jan. Stressing over laundry soap, shampoo, and things like that is no longer something i have to do so i feel so much more calmer knowing i can spend a little extra on food items my husband and kids want like hot pockets and pizza. I normally have to stretch $100 for a month or more of food for 6 people and 4 are adults. I been doing this with no coupons and the items i get for free or next to nothing use to have to come out of that food budget. I get really tired of noodles and lunch meat sandwiches so i understand the males need for hot pockets and pizza. My region does not get much when it comes to food coupons so saving on food is difficult. The past couple weeks the food coupons have been candy. I love candy but it is not in budget unless i can get it free or pretty close to that. In order for me to go to a coupon friendly grocery store i would have to drive a few hours away. Before this outbreak i was planning on doing that but now with everything i rather stay close to house. My shampoo/ conditioner, face wipes and lotion takes up only 2 shelves of my bathroom closet and my laundry soap pile is half on washer and other half in cabinet downstairs. We do happen to have enough laundry soap for 6-8 months if people use it correctly. I have found i love pods better than regular liquid because those people in house that are old and use 40oz bottle of tide on 2-4 loads now are not wasting so much soap. Now i don't have to get the lip that they know better than me and have been washing laundry longer than me. One bag of tide pods (16ct) is good for a month of washes for them which is so much better than 3 bottles of 40oz soap. If i coupon coupon like these extreme couponers on food i would. Money that is saved would allow more trips to do fun things the kids like, a trip out to a local farm (zoo) and a nice lunch there. More money to put away for a vacation so we can drive down and visit some family in the south. Is the little things that makes you happy so if only we could do a few more little things.

How do US stores allow excess coupon usage and be okay with it? I've never seen it happen where I'm from. If I ever happen to find a coupon on something, there will be some fine print stating I can't combine it with any other deal.
@Marys_Life_644 жыл бұрын
You can use coupons on sale items. One has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH THE OTHER. Can't combine with other deals usually means can't use more than 1 manufacturer coupon. Many coupons state now how many "like" coupons can be in a single transaction. Some stores also do that now, but not all. You can extreme coupon, but not on that scale. It's best to do in small batches. I've been doing that for years. I might have 1 coupon or 30 if I'm lucky and the sales line up. So many people are using digital coupons now and they won't ever double even at stores that have double coupon days. Still you can get $50.00 worth of stuff for under $20.00 if you shop the sales. That's a significant savings. This show is years old.

Not all do, but yes many do now. Some of it's manufacturers. Stores don't want to stock too much because if it doesn't sell fast enough they have to pay taxes on it. When comes inventory time they pay taxes on all merchandise. They also don't have huge stockrooms anymore. Since most stores are part of strip malls they pay per square foot and usually a percentage of what they sell. They need all the selling space they can get to maximize people buying. Most people as I see in the comments of your comment don't understand anything and just assume they know what the deal is. They're too lazy to actually learn something instead of assuming.

@@PanPrezeso Some might be. In reality it's more stores don't want to stock enough to be able to do this and a lot of it is the manufacturer. The coupons state limits many times now. So many stores aren't very big and just don't have the space.

It depends on where you shop. It varies by store. If you're going to coupon the first rule is learn the policies

No problem with couponing except when they take all 20 something and leave nothing for anyone else. Others would like a deal too, just take a reasonable amount

I used to be an extreme couponer and because alot of couponers are so greedy stores don't even double coupons anymore and they put limits on how many items you can buy and the amount of coupons you can use.

Problem is people like her is why we have such short coupon life spans. And stores got rid of double coupons.
@Marys_Life_644 жыл бұрын
@Vegas Sweetie Another ignorant comment from someone who doesn't know what they're talking about. Most stores that did double coupon (very few ever did) had limits per day or transaction. The ones that did pick up the extra coupon cost. The reason there are short coupon dates has nothing to do with people using the coupons, but the exact opposite. Manufacturers pay a lot of money a year to make deals and print coupons. They want you to use them. I have some that are over 40 years old. I found them in old cookbooks and magazines. They want you to use them faster and not wait for sales as many people used to. My mom taught me to use coupons in the early 1970's when I was very young. Maybe learn something before making ignorant comments.
