As an artist who has a daughter who is 10 and is also an artist I will say a pencil and paper is really what is needed. ... Learning to scatch body shapes, animals, geometrics any setting or decor you have in the house. Also I would recommend she explores with water color. There are different videos available on KZbin to follow. I don't know how old she is, but acrylics would be another medium she could start working with. As far as crafts my 10 year old has been a part of the Creative girls club where she receives craft projects once a month with everything needed included and that has been fun. Hope any of this helps. Much love to you and I am amazed at how much you did in this video. Wow! You should reward yourself big time :)

For dresser organization, I literally just use recycled boxes. Craft supplies are a struggle for me, too, but a couple of those plastic drawer units with boxes inside do help. Maybe you'll inspire me to tidy them up once again. I also use those cases with handles for stuff I use frequently, like the caboodles I had as a kid. I've got one for sewing, and one for wirework.

I stumbled upon your channel recently and have been going back and watching some different videos that are interesting to me. I love watching videos where people pretty much take everything out of closets and drawers in an effort to clean, declutter, and reorganize the space. These are honestly some of my all time favorite videos to watch. Personally, I am in the process of downsizing a lot of what I have in terms of decor and just general "stuff." I don't own a lot of clothes so my wardrobe never is in the declutter zone just because it is already minimal at best. My husband and I live in an 892 square foot 1 bedroom + den apartment and our entire space has 1 drawer ~~ seriously folks, who designs and builds an apartment with 1 drawer?? It is so crazy to me. I will also be 57 in mid-January and am just in the stage of life where I don't feel the need to have stuff filling every nook and cranny to the point where we are busting at the seams. I also know that at some point we will end up relocating to either a new apartment or possibly even moving out of state, and it will just make packing and moving a much easier and less time consuming process. I cannot wait to keep working my way through several more videos as I am thoroughly enjoying your channel.

Hi Megan, long time! I have the same problem with things falling over in drawers. I do use a few bins, but I have two new ways of keeping things upright. The first is thin metal bookends. They keep everything standing up and obviously adjust to whatever amount of items are in the drawer at any time. My second solution is a cheap option for dividers because I can't believe how expensive they can be. I grabbed some foam core boards from Dollar Tree and cut them up to fit snugly in the drawers. You can do them in just one direction, or make square and rectangular sections by cutting slits in them and sliding them over each other. I hope that makes sense, lol! They have several different colours at Dollar Tree, so it actually looks pretty good. I've been a crafter forever, too, and always lived in small spaces. The best organization I've achieved so far is using the plastic drawer systems. I prefer the taller one that has a few shallow drawers on the top half and a few deep ones on the bottom. They come in different sizes and widths, and you can also stack them on top of each other if you leave the wheels off. I use different bins and trays to organize inside the drawers where I need to. You did an awesome job with this declutter! 😊

What worked for us was one of those stackable rolling carts with multiple drawers. Each drawer can then be organized within it. We have a bin for scissors, glue, pencils, markers, etc inside the drawers. We have small bins to hold pom poms, googly eyes & other small crafty items. We have a drawer for paints & paint supplies. Then the larger drawers at the bottom hold the paper, coloring books & activity books.

Just found your channel. That's a good way to think of it: "things you reach over instead of reaching for"-makes a lot of sense to consider things that way. Appreciate you reminding us to be realistic, bc if one overextends & declutters things one isn't yet ready to let go, that will dissuade future attempts to declutter-and one might even end up going backwards, holding on to more, bc it was too painful letting go of that much (all at once). I find it easier to declutter little by little, removing a thin layer of excess at a time...only after getting rid of a few things do I feel able to let go of another few things, it's a gradual process for me. But I admit I love seeing dramatically different, transformed, Before & After photos of a decluttered space. Thanks for making these videos :)

I personally have always loved arts & crafts & so do my boys. I keep everything in one place. I have containers for crayons, colored pencils, markers, black pens, blue pens, colored ink pens, sharpies. & I know it may seem easier to put all the pens together & the colors together but when you're crafty, you like to use different things for different art projects & it makes it easier to find what you're looking for. I keep all the open notebooks, construction paper, coloring books in one drawer. & all the unopened supplies in a different drawer. I found we were opening brand new packs of pens or a brand new glue stick when we already had opened one. All b/c everything was mixed up. But my number one advice is not to buy any more art supplies & let your daughter use everything you guys have gotten her which won't take long lol. & when you see the a lot of the crayons are broken & the markers are dried out or if she's colored most of her coloring books. Then go out & buy her more. That way you use what you have & you're not bringing in more into your home

Hi! My oldest son loves his art supplies and I organized his stuff using one of those three tiered rolling carts you can get at target, Michael's or Ikea. I bought a bunch of pencil boxes from the dollar tree (made sure they were the exact same ones so they fit perfectly, not all dollar trees carry the same ones in my area). Then I separated everything in categories, labeled the boxes and lined them up in two rows kind of like books. 12 fit in each tier so it ended up holding a lot. Each box has one type of item and it's labeled that way. So for example he has, thick markers, thin markers, highlighters, glue sticks, pens, pencils, colored pencils, crayons, pom poms, beads, buttons, etc. Then for paper items I used magazine holders that are made of cardboard from Amazon (I don't have these on the rolling cart though, this is on a shelf). All of his construction paper is in one, coloring books in another, notebooks in another and so on. This is also how I keep all of the back up school supplies so it's easy to organize his back pack before school. Now when he wants to color, he pulls out the pencil box with what he wants to use and it has all been really sustainable because each art item has its home. Aaand u can roll it around the house if needed! Sorry for the long post😬 just thought it may help.

Our house is small like yours about 1400sq. With my daughter I ended up getting her a smaller bed. She had a full when she was a toddler but when I found out I was pregnant with our 3rd she had to go in the smaller room so the boys could share. I ended up just getting all twin beds for them. Now she has room for a dresser, desk (which houses all of her craft stuff), Barbie house, and bed. All her toys are in the closet.

Although my new apartment is bigger than my last apartment, this 1 is so much easier to keep tidy. I love being able to open a closet & know exactly what is there. I purchased the ikea rolling cart utilizing it as my daughters’ craft station. They also have a kitchen cupboard designated for all things for crafting. I also decanted coloring crayons into a basket whereas colored pencils, markers, chalk, and crafting “stuff” are organized separately in large glass, covered jars. Stickers are kept in a large 3- ring binder in alphabetical order according to theme. Construction paper is organized by color in a drawer. Scissors, glue, glitter jars are kept in a shower to go basket.

🖐🏼🙂 For the arts & craft supplies you can try to put the items in different baskets/plastic box and have them all in one place(one that could fit all ) and have one empty so when she wants to go to a different place she could have that empty one and fill it with the supplies she needs and then when she is done she could bring it back to the room and distribute the items back to their places. I hope this is understandable ☺️

So, a recommendation on Kinsley's creations....I would suggest that you have a chest or box, the idea is to limit the space. She can keep what can fit and if something doesn't fit she can give it to someone, or donate it, or other items so it will fit. The best thing about being creative is sharing it and that is something she should learn. Before she gives something away then take a picture of it and maybe get her a scrapbook or digital way she can look at everything...or possible keep a bulletin board with photos of her favorites.
