I have had those low, deep “black hole” cabinets like where you put the glasses. I finally bought fifty cent cookie sheets at the thrift shop,covered them with foil and used them as slide out “drawers”.

I did something similar with long wire baskets. The one under my sink has a handle you can pull it out with.

When we moved into our "new" house 20 years ago, the first request I had for my very handy husband was to build and install full extension shelves in all my lower cabinets (kitchen and bathrooms) because I knew this was our retirement home and I wouldn't be able to get down on the floor to access the back of the lower cabinets. It was the best decision I ever made.

In the deep cabinet, I have found, for us, it is easier to put things in a very long basket that fits in there. Especially if she has trouble getting down in there. Most people would have a hard time with that cabinet.

I have had lazy Susan’s for years and my most functional and long lasting use has been for pots and pans and bowls. Storing food there was ALWAYS a frustration for me!

For those deep compartments, could you get your Grandma some plastic storage containers that would fit those spaces? Maybe shoe bins? Then she could pull out the containers like a drawer. Maybe Dollar Tree or Dollar General has something.

I'm 73 and a long time minimalist. I use the lazy susan cabinet for once a year items. I filled a box with extra pots and pans for Goodwill. My husband has 8 mugs. I have 2. Tina, Al's wife

I have a Lazy Susan and I keep old Tupperware bowls, light pans, etc. -things that are not heavy. Great job helping your Grandma! Love the video!

For your gma's lower cabinets, some long, narrow boxes or trays that she can slide in and out would give her greatly improved access.

Label makers are a great help for Tupperware containers both clear and opaque. 😊

Suggestion bottom cabinets long extra cookie sheets or get the wire tracked drawers for can cabinet. Baskets in the drawers. Some tape in gift wrap box. Half of those matches need to go. Take half the tape home .

I just decluttered and cleaned by two 6 ft tall pantries. They are deep, also. I threw out four white 13 gallon trash bags of stuff. It was FUN!!

Great job! I have a Lazy Susan cabinet. I have a love-hate relationship with it! Things just get lost on the bottom shelf! Congratulations on approaching 20k. I remember videos where you were amazed at 5k, lol. ❤😊

Just a comment I store my nuts, flours, wheat berries, popcorn kernels and bread crumbs in my deep freeze- of course in freezer safe containers. Also use masking tape to date. Keeps them fresher much longer. I grew up often blessed to have 1 meal so I really feel bad to see waste. When my items are within a month of expiration I give my items to a emergency food bank. I work 18 hours a day or more weekdays and 16 hours over the weekend. Husband works long hours too. I get busy and can sympathize but I try to not waste remembering the 10 year old me that often went to bed hungry.

Hey Gabby, you know I have been here since the Hoarder house chronicles. I love what you are doing for your family and if it ever because a time you could do your grandma's whole house it would be so awesome. Like give it a super deep clean for her and do all the things. i'm sure she would love it too I hope you exceed 20k followers beofre birth. I agree with @lauramitchell6725, pots, pans, & bowls work better with lazy Susans. Too much bending with food items. By the way, I live in Japan and there is a home organizer, Junko Furukata, who teaches about “Golden Zones”, the area of arm reach without bending is where to put the most frequently used items. She also teaches “water, fire, & prep zones” to keep items to be used in those areas close by, instead of running across the room looking for things.
