I think you should do an episode in which you also cook your "first meal" (even if it might be your actual second or third one) as a celebration for us all to inaugurate your wonderful, wonderful kitchen!

I was so excited for this episode, as I’m sure all your viewers were. You are sooooo close! This is such a beautiful room. I love how you played it cool when they said they were going to add more trim to the bottom of your upper cabinets to hide the lights. Inside, we all know that you were doing a happy dance! I’ve been trying to convince my husband to change out our few glass front cabinets to Reeded glass. I’m excited that it what you chose so I can show him how stunning it looks. I just shake my head when I watch you jump in and install your own refrigerator and never hesitate to take off the dishwasher panel or retire an old light. All women should be taught to do those wonderful things themselves. I’m 65 later this year so I’m a generation too late but try to learn and do as much as possible. When hubby says something is too difficult, I pull up one of your videos and say, “Are you going to let this young lady show you up?”😊

Your point about patience-my sewing projects have really gone to the next level now that I’ve started to take my time and really focus on grain and fit, do the hand work (thread tracing, basting), etc. Yes, my projects take longer, but my patience has paid off with much better results! I loved seeing how you took your time on your projects in this video, and I’m sure it will pay dividends for you in your beautiful kitchen ❤

I love the idea of having something grow on that wall. Unsolicited advice but only because it can cause damage: As I'm sure you already have/planned to, but just in case you hadn't, I suggest researching what plants are safe to have attach/vine to the walls. Some viney plants are quite vigorous and can damage the wall and/or grow into places you don't want it to therefore causing more damage. The roots and aerial roots mostly. If it's upkept and an eye is kept on it, I'm sure it can be fine! The texture of the stucco will be perfect for something to climb and grab onto. Looking forward to seeing it grow ❤
@denisejones1863
@denisejones1863 5 ай бұрын
Yes, I had a vine on a house that I had to constantly cut back so it wouldn't grow under the eves. It was a lot of work. Maybe instead of letting grow on the stucco you use a trellis. You can get really beautiful ones made of white vinyl. It helps contain the vine where you want it.
@Alexandra-jj2qh
@Alexandra-jj2qh 5 ай бұрын
@@denisejones1863Yes, definitely an off-set trellis so there is air space between wall and trellis. Look for a twining plant, nothing with aerial roots (like ivy) which will destroy the stucco!

Very nice. Was looking forward to seeing your video. If you’re considering doing a panel for the dishwasher in future, you might want to get a panel stained now so it ages at the same rate as your cabinets. I’ve used Rub-n-buff to adjust the colour… maybe you could try that to adjust the colour of the dishwasher panel and apply a clear coat to seal and protect it. It’s nice to see tradesmen who take pride in their work while listening to what your vision is. Congratulations

I was hoping she would paint it brass instead of black, in order to look more cohesive & classic, along with all of the other brass elements, but maybe she can redo it later on. I know she's a perfectionist like me & it will bug her. I've never been a fan of black appliances, with antique-looking stoves being the singular exception.

kitchen is looking FAB-U-LOUS. I was never a lover of dark cabinets until seeing yours. Now I want walnut! Looks so rich, french, European. Love! and the chandelier is stunning! Again very European. Love all the details

It's so relaxing and satisfying to take in all of the gorgeous details you put into this kitchen renovation. The colors, the lighting, the textures... And you're not even done yet! It is an absolute treat to take a break from my day to watch one of your KZbin videos and be able to "visit" with you in your beautiful home! Thank you for all the hard work you do and for sharing your life with us!

I'd love to see(or hear on the podcast) a cost breakdown of this whole project, including your diys. A comparison to the cottage would be cool too!

Absolutely stunning!! You have been very blessed by all the great workers, especially your contractor, he is awesome! I also love the trim work you added to the bottom of your cabinets as well, that gentleman is a phenomenal wood worker.

Just throwing it out there…I believe the trim piece that was added to the bottom of the cabinets are upside down. I think flipping it around would “ground” the cabinets better. Love the way the kitchen is coming together! We are currently doing the same thing in our kitchen in our 1920s home.

I just discovered color caps. You change the color of outlets under the cover plates to make them blend in better. Looks helpful for those not able to rewire outlets.

An absolute dream comes true! Everything is absolutely gorgeous. If I even have the luxury of planning a kitchen I am going to follow some of your reality. You are so, so talented and unremarkably capable with every single thing attended to. I am just loving each thing you have done, each with such thought and function. What a dream come true! Kudos in spades to you MaCenna. Beyond a dream!~~~~~
