Article totally got their money's worth--the videography, your choice of words to describe the furniture, and the sound of your voice! A+++ I moved into my house almost a month ago, but I'm 54 and working on the house alone. When Zach was carefully sanding a small area and holding the dustpan under it, I thought--good idea! Cut to the next scenes with dust flying everywhere, lol. And my baseboards have been dinged and painted over so many times. I'm sure they're original to my house (1960s). If I tried to pry them off the walls....wow. I'd have to completely replace them...so instead I crawled all around the perimeter of the room, carefully painting along the top of baseboards, wiping off the paint when I made a mistake. At least I am done painting for now :)

Having such a large window in the living room will always be a great advantage for me because I love spaces with abundant natural lighting. Also, I think you picked the perfect shade, both in an aesthetic sense (because of how well it blends in with the rest of the area) and in a functional sense (because of the way the fabric diffuses the light). Your accent chairs are lovely. I have a couple of Florence Armchairs from Manhattan Home Design that have a very similar finish. Thank you for showing us this transformation process! Very inspiring.

I love it. I don’t know if I have a style. I love mid century furniture but I also love the homey feel of traditional furniture. And I love classic ornate antique furniture. Wood tones is definitely my style. I love architectural touches like board and batten and coffered ceiling’s, wide base board and trim. So your living room makeover really appealed to me. I love how you made it work in a 80’s style home. Can’t wait to what else you come up with.

We found a beautiful living/dining set that solidified it for us and now we have our direction! We too are just trying to take our time and do it right. We will be here for a long time and want everything to feel put together and 'like us '

Honestly I didn’t have a style for the longest time, I’d just like a million random things and just go with it. I finally found my style and I’d say it’s very hippie/vintage with a touch of MCM. I absolutely love crystals, plants, gold pieces, rusty burnt orange and dark green, natural wood tones. Were broke rn and expecting so I can’t decorate the house, most of it is completely bare, but I did do some DIYs for our bedroom, and made something out of nothing. Very proud of that. So proud of you! It looks absolutely beautiful

I really loved it. It took a while for me to find my style. I love colors but muted, I never paint in neutral white shades. I want my home to feel cozy but also have a touch of whimsical and areas of magic. It should feel old and vintage with a twist. If I was single I would go bananas completely and let loose but I do a little compromising now. Its a constant exploration and my creative outlet.

Absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!! This is totally my style, and I’m in the same spot you used to be, as I haven’t been able to fully fulfill my own style, because we’ve always rented. In a few years we will own our own home, and I think my style will be a mix between cozy farmhouse & mid industrial. The farmhouse has all the tones, colors, and textures and then the mid industrial brings in lots of wood tones & metal.

I love your living room! When you mentioned the rug issue I thought maybe a long sofa table behind the side of the couch facing the stairs would allow for the sofa to go out a ways moving the rug a little more towards the chairs so there isn't quite as much separation between the areas. Maybe something to look into? I think you have enough room there without overcrowding. We purchased our home in September and have to replace the subflooring before we get to do anything like this so it's a little ways out yet. I've been planning our bedroom, our daughters room, and the living room. I'm adapting to this weird mix of industrial meets mid century modern and I love planning it out
