I was working thru college at a Long John Silvers when this song was out. We had these microphones at the time on the fron counters to call back special orders... after close at times we would put rubber bands over the push button mainly to annoy whoever was in back. I was up front counting the drawers and (while i cant really sing) someone had this song playing on the radio so i started singing into the mic. One of the other employees grabbed the other oneand egged me on to keep going. He could sing tho. So we did the duet, myself and Brian. 2 months later his cousin called him out of class to fly down and audition for a group he later joined, called the Backstreet Boys.

In life, two extremes usually occur: those who frequently say I love you without proving it with actions, and those who spend their entire lives without ever daring to say I love you, one as bad as the other, until they no longer dare to say I love you. there is a remedy. In any case, a beautiful song, which has remained despite the years that have passed, is from 1991 and the reason is obvious, the beautiful message it transmits and the beautiful interpretation. Greetings Bisscute and a big hug from Mexico City.

Extreme is one of the most underrated bands in history. They were known as the "More than words" guys. They have several songs to bang your head (Get the funk out, Decadence dance, Kid ego) but also ballads (Hole hearted, tragic comic, song for love). Even its vocalist, Gary Cherone, spent some time singing with Van Halen, I recommend that you only listen the song "Without you", the only interesting song from Van Halen's Cherone era

Extreme r from Boston, they broke big in 1990 w/ this 2nd album 'Pornograffiti'... It sold 2x platinum and this single became an essential 'slow dance' song. Extreme scored another acoustic hit from this album - 'Hole hearted'... Unfortunately, Extreme became this cautionary tale in the 90's as 3rd album 'III sides to every story' only sold gold in the US and they were not known for their rock songs. Extreme released 'Waiting for the punchline' in 1995, but it sold poorly and they disbanded in 1996. The original Extreme was: Gary Cherone (vocals), Nuno Bettencourt (guitar), Pat Badger (bass) and Paul Geary (drums) In 1998, Gary Cherone joined Van Halen as the singer and released 1 album 'Van Halen III'... He was not a good fit for Van Halen and was out of the band by 2000. Extreme eventually reunited and has released 2 more albums. Other songs by Extreme - 'Get the funk out' ... 'Hip today' ... 'Rest in peace'... "Mutha (Don't want to go to school today)"

These guys were/are also very dear friends with Brian May and the group Queen… At the 1992 Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert, they performed the most STUNNING Queen medley! When Brian May introduced them, he paid them the HIGHEST compliment, saying “These guys, probably more than anyone else, understand what Queen has been about - and what Freddie has been about - all these years.” (The full medley is 20 MINUTES LONG… and “tricky” to find in its entirety, but there are a couple copies of the full thing on YT… I think they actually performed the medley just BEFORE the main tribute concert started, which would explain why not a lot of people seem to be aware of it.)🫶

I dont think there is higher praise in the Music industry.

I love the message of this song - that those "three little words" are fine and all, but can become empty and meaningless without actions to back them up. Even if the words are never uttered, it doesn't mean the love is not there, cos it's more important that the love is SHOWN than merely said. That's how I roll, lol... I'm more inclined to DO things that show it than just say it.

This is the song that broke Extreme up for many years. They had created a monster. It smothered every other song they wrote. To casual fans, their sets were only two things - More Than Words and songs that were not More Than Words. It became too much for them. Gary Cherone (the guy on the left) went on to sing for Van Halen for about 10 minutes. Nuno (the guy on the right) went on to become one of the most highly respected guitar players on the planet - even playing the Super Bowl halftime time show with Rhianna. If you really want to see what Extreme is made of, check out Decadence Dance. If you want to see what Nuno can really do, check out Rise - one of the most impressive solos in rock history (in my opinion).
