My husband and I are moving to Ireland next year, as I'm a foreign birth national. Big jump, and we are saying goodbye to and selling a lot of the things that make our current little cottage in South Africa home. My favorite item in your office is the desk lamp, because I'm a sucker for vintage items and suffer from SAD. Light is therefore very important to me! The colour we've as our feature wall in our bedroom along side Dove tail and like u I thought it be too dark but I trusted my vision and i so love it , gives such a warm cosy feel! My fav thing overall ( which is so hard to pick as many!!!.. This made me quite emotional. I'm transitioning from radio after being on air for 14 years to YT podcasting, and I've been working on my studio as well. I also have a super small room that faces my (new lockdown) garden, but it faces North and there's a huge maple tree making it even darker. I find it unusable because it's so depressing and I've been trying to figure out what to do, translating to self-doubt because I "should" just start producing. This video was a Godsend for me. I never would have thought of using such a saturated green, or the hero wall of gorgeous flowers. Yesss! I fully believe in holding your hands up and surrendering when you know something is NOT your strong point, accepting help … some people have natural talent for this kind of thing! And she was super keen to help to get some practice for her course! I was EXTREMELY grateful ❤️ I think the room would have ended up a bit *too* ‘granny chic’ if I’d been left to my own devices hahaha like I wouldn’t have been so good at mixing the old and new, definitely wouldn’t have been as brave with colour and the idea of cutting off the wallpaper where the nook is … GENIUS

even though this so far away from my personal style I have to say that this is simply stunning. Caoimhe and you did such a fab job with tying everything together. I think that things can get too "heavy" in such a small space pretty quickly, but somehow it doesn't in this case. The colour of the walls and *that flooooor* are my faves though. :) 💚💚💚 also...do you find it satisfying to know that you did so much of the work yourself? Bc. that how I feel when I fix something up myself. Even if things turn out a bit wonky and imperfect knowing I did it myself always makes it okay. :D

My favourite individual thing in the room, is the wallpaper. I don't know why but it awakes so many different vibes and feelings in me. 💚💚💚 It's hard to think what my favourite item is... I think it has to be the colour of the room all together! It just brings everything together so well! Well done on everything. Only one tip if I may :) My mom's is an interior designer and a professional painter et wallpaper installer, when you paint (if you don't want the natural light to reflect on spots) always paint in stripes (up and down) all the way from the ceiling to the floor, you can do a few diagonals first to spread the paint but afterwards keep it all in the same directions! And for the wallpaper, keep some extras at the top and bottom and only cut it after you've placed it, flattened it and removed the air bubbles from the glue. I think those tips should come in handy for the next renovations of your beautiful house!
