@lotharsoran36042 жыл бұрын
I would love a new season of your shows! Also, thank you for taking the time to explain things. I am a type 1 diabetic at 32. Watching your videos has really educated me on how important it is to take care of my feet. If I am careful, I can keep all my toes for decades to come. I like my toes for the most part. I'm 5ft 7, and have size 7 (UK) feet, they are wide, but quite slim and delicate, it's a weird combination. I have to get the size 7 for the width, and my toes, but my foot is actually not that long. I just have really long toes. I can pick things up with them like they are fingers. They are literally three quarters of the length of my hand fingers! I am self conscious though about my feet, because the diabetes has done some weird things to my toe nails. They grow all strange, crooked and thick, like this guy's, but not quite so bad. Every other lady my age I know seems to have cute little toes and toenails, that grow normally.... it makes me feel old to have these weird toenails, like a granny. Any injuries, especially to my feet, seem to abcess up ridiculously fast. I kicked a door once, by accident, my big toe nail got squished. Cut the sides of my toe around the nail. It didn't even look like a bad cut! There was a bit of bleeding, not much, and that was it. It ended up giving me a severe infection, as I really didn't feel it at all. By the next morning, I woke up and it had gone crazy. Swelling, pus, I didn't have much time to think about it, cleaned it off quick and rushed out to work. But, it started tracking up my foot towards my ankle. By day three there were red lines on the skin. But I didn't take it seriously until I saw those red lines. I thought it wasn't so bad, because I could not feel it. I figured that if it was a problem, it would really hurt, but I was wrong. I got really sick, and pretty scared, I was so sad when the doctor told me the nerves in my feet had died, and would not ever grow back. So, now I have to be really careful. Check, clean and moisturize my feet twice a day, wear something on my feet around the house, no high heels or shoes that pinch. With some help from a chiropdodist, at my local hospital's specialist endicronology and diabetic team, it is mostly under control now. It was a pretty scary underlining of how important it is to take foot care seriously, but at least now I know.

I like the way you talk to chronically ill patients. You don't pity them or praise them too much. As someone with a chronic illness I don't like it when people tell me they are sorry, but worst of all I don't like people telling me I'm brave. I'm just a normal person, we are just normal people living our lives with our struggles like anyone else. What we need are people who give us understanding and are patient when we can't do something because of whatever struggle we may have.

You did well by this patient. Hope he heals up well. Just an update of my own: Thanks to what I've learned here, my two big toes have much healthier and fully attached nails. Getting shoe/boots with a wide toe box has reversed a lot of the deformation and greatly improved mobility in my toe joints. I still have a hammer toe I may have to deal with at some point, but it could be a lot worse. Screw fashion, get shoes that fit.

I was having surgery done on my first metatarsal. The surgeon and his PA were talking about your videos while they got me set up. The PA then left the room to go and permanently remove a toenail in the next room. They seemed to be big fans of your work! This was just down the road in Hamilton, Ontario.

It's nice that toe bro really thinks of his patients welfare and takes time to explain why a procedure should be or shouldn't be done..

I found myself gritting my teeth also, anticipating the pain of cutting those armadillo shells out. Quite a difference at the end!!! Thank goodness for Mr. Toe.

I love this show and Toe Bro is a wonderful podiatrist on this video what I thought was so rude and the patient's whoever was with him was talkin on his phone now the right thing would have been to leave the room so the patient can fully pay attention to the doctor because that man that was talkin on the phone was totally taking away even from me being able to pay attention so I can't even imagine how the doctor and patient felt
