Hey Jo Bro. Loved this video. They were so nice. I recall my Great Granddad Jo lived to be 102 years old. He outlived my Grand Papa and my Papa and said it is sad when someone outlives their son and Grand son. He was able to do everything himself. I always loved talking to him. THis man kind of reminds me of him. The only thing was he could not hear well. LOL Looking forward to part 2. Great job as usual.

My husband’s grandfather out lived his 2 daughter’s and wife. He is also hard of hearing and gets mad when we ask him to turn down the TV when we call him on the phone. He refuses to get a hearing aid. We love him and it’s so frustrating when all we wanna do is help and he doesn’t corporate.

I wanna start by saying this lady reminds me of my mom. She just spent five weeks out of state caring for her father before she had to come back to work. That really touches my heart. Second - the work you do makes me feel better about myself. I have a toenail that was damaged when I was very young, younger than 10 years old. It was lifted, it's been discolored, and it made me feel self conscious about my feet. I've trimmed it myself and attempted to take care of it myself, but it never went back to normal so I figured I had done something wrong. Coming to this channel has made me thankful that I took care of it - I've basically done the right thing an I'm thankful the damage did not become more advanced. Thank you for the amazing, compassionate work you do - and for the information! ❤🦶

I have thick white big toe nails since chemo 4 yrs ago. It wasn't until I watched several of your videos and listening to you talk with your patients that I will look into whether it's a fungus or something else. Thank you Dr Toe Bro, I - like many of your patients - was just going to live with it ... forever. And at least in my case I could paint/polish my toe nails a color to camouflage the actual nail color. (I can't trim my big toe nails - too thick - so I wait until their long enough and use some tool from the garage. It usually cuts weird, so I'll use an industrial tool or a metal file or what ever works, too "smooth" out the rough edges. It's all really embarrassing & haven't told anyone but you now.) Thanks for taking the time to make these vids, it really is helping they've definitely helped me. 55 yo Katherine from Oregon

I agree that changing up the verbage in active listening would help, but active listening is done to encourage the other person that you are listening and taking in the information. At first you're disgusted and think "how the heck does someone let it get this bad" but then you start to realize he had on socks 24/7. They never saw his feet but if he's at a nursing home this is unacceptable. I understand how seniors don't want help, they don't want to ask for help. They're dealing with so much as they age and lose the ability to do basic things. I understand a little how they feel, I have two herniated discs and I've lost the ability to: bend over, tie shoes, put on socks, cut my toe nails, wash my hair, brush my hair, style my hair, wipe my bum, pull on tighter clothing, etc. I'm 25yrs old and I can't do anything really. It depresses me and I still have options, I couldn't imagine being a senior and not really having any options and losing all my independence. Thank you for all that you do 💙

I work in an ortho office in Southern CA and our six doctors and five PA's see a patient every 10-20 minutes. They can't take the time to speak with the patients like this, which is a sad reality. Healthcare in America. On a side note, I started buying all my shoes on-line stores only like Footsmart and Vionic. They are pricey but they have the arch support, heel support, vionic insoles, etc, and I can get the half-size shoe I really need instead of having to buy shoes that are too small. When I look at shoes in the stores now they seem poorly made in comparison.

Hi Johnathan! I love the work you do and the perfect bedside manner that you have. You never talk AT or DOWN to your patients. You’re a great Dr. Wish I lived in Canada. I have diabetic feet, with some bad big toes. I’ve been too embarrassed to have them looked at, but listening to you, I’m beginning to change my mind. If you ever open an office stateside, come to the SAT LOUIS, MISSOURI 😂😆😂

Wow! 100% improvement! Great job, Jonathan! Your bedside manner should be taught to the majority of the medical field! Then everyone would love to go and see a Doctor! 💖💖💖

Chelle, SAME HERE. Now, I've got foot phobia-itis. Started trimming, powdering, creams, etc. Clean, clean, clean. Dont' want anything this severe to ever happen. Love the TOE BRO, he's so patient and compassionate. Wish he was in OUR area.

Think of IT this way; You've graduated from ZITS to TOES- Jonathan is very skilled- a great instructor- inspires ME to do better maintainance of my own feet- and I have a great Podiatrist here in Central Ohio- between She and I ***we are helping my "tootsies " to look better and hurt less!

All because of this channel I get so stressed whenever I bang my toenails or drop something on my toes 😳 I'm like "ughhhh when I'm old I'm going to have damaged toenails 😭"

His Sibling - I LOVE NY! I used to travel there for work several times a year. Mainly for Fashion Week and job trainings at the Redken building on 5th and 46th. My husband went to NYU there too. Oh how I miss NYC. Greetings from 🌞 Southern California.

That Girl & Alena J While I absolutely adore NYC, I was referring to North York which is a part of Toronto. TB and the patient are also from Toronto though a lot of people from the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) name the area or municipality that they live in

I'm pretty sure that lady is going to subscribe to your channel haha. She was super interested and fantastic at asking questions. P.S. the other day my big toe whacked a cupboard at the top part of the nail lifted/cracked. Grrr. BUT I knew exactly what to do thanks to you!

Though I am just the slightest bit squeamish at this sort of stuff, I found it very informative and entertaining. I'm glad you were able to treat his foot with him not feeling too much discomfort!

I'm always amazed at how ambidextrous Jonathan is, so freely switching the nail nippers from one hand to the other and back again. Practice makes perfect. II also enjoy how he so patiently answers questions in a clear, concise way, so people can take that info and make smart decisions about their care or the care of their elderly loved ones.

To give people an idea of how easy it is for this to go unnoticed, my 85 year old step-grandma didn’t notice how long my 87 year old grandpa’s toenails had gotten until she accidentally walked in on him getting in the tub. He always wore socks and slippers around her, and he could still shower/bathe on his own, so she never saw his bare feet in that capacity. He was too proud to ask for help with his nails, and she didn’t think to ask. They LIVED together and it wasn’t obvious.

My fingernails don’t even grow that long! I’m really surprised he could wear shoes! My toenails grow 1/16 of an inch n I’m like ow it’s cutting into my toe😂.
