Hey Jo Bro. Loved this video. They were so nice. I recall my Great Granddad Jo lived to be 102 years old. He outlived my Grand Papa and my Papa and said it is sad when someone outlives their son and Grand son. He was able to do everything himself. I always loved talking to him. THis man kind of reminds me of him. The only thing was he could not hear well. LOL Looking forward to part 2. Great job as usual.

My husband’s grandfather out lived his 2 daughter’s and wife. He is also hard of hearing and gets mad when we ask him to turn down the TV when we call him on the phone. He refuses to get a hearing aid. We love him and it’s so frustrating when all we wanna do is help and he doesn’t corporate.

I work in a medical center performing basic dry pedicures on elderly patients and I come across many toes like these, your videos help me so much with how to proceed with such patients and also give me other alternatives on how to treat the patients. They are so grateful at the end of their service. I have been a licensed nail tech for 16years, started in Puerto Rico and moved to Florida. I still do nails but my full time job and passion is helping the elderly with their feet. I am now pursuing a certification to become a certified medical nail technician. I wish you were here in Florida!!! Thank you so much for all your amazing videos!

I wanna start by saying this lady reminds me of my mom. She just spent five weeks out of state caring for her father before she had to come back to work. That really touches my heart. Second - the work you do makes me feel better about myself. I have a toenail that was damaged when I was very young, younger than 10 years old. It was lifted, it's been discolored, and it made me feel self conscious about my feet. I've trimmed it myself and attempted to take care of it myself, but it never went back to normal so I figured I had done something wrong. Coming to this channel has made me thankful that I took care of it - I've basically done the right thing an I'm thankful the damage did not become more advanced. Thank you for the amazing, compassionate work you do - and for the information! ❤🦶

I have thick white big toe nails since chemo 4 yrs ago. It wasn't until I watched several of your videos and listening to you talk with your patients that I will look into whether it's a fungus or something else. Thank you Dr Toe Bro, I - like many of your patients - was just going to live with it ... forever. And at least in my case I could paint/polish my toe nails a color to camouflage the actual nail color. (I can't trim my big toe nails - too thick - so I wait until their long enough and use some tool from the garage. It usually cuts weird, so I'll use an industrial tool or a metal file or what ever works, too "smooth" out the rough edges. It's all really embarrassing & haven't told anyone but you now.) Thanks for taking the time to make these vids, it really is helping they've definitely helped me. 55 yo Katherine from Oregon

I know hearing "okay" so much can be annoying, but she is active listening. I agree that changing up the verbage in active listening would help, but active listening is done to encourage the other person that you are listening and taking in the information. My family does this all the time. We usually mix up what we say though. I think the thing to take away from this video is Jonathan's kind work and the care the patient's daughter has for her daddy.

All term/name misuse and impostors are to be banned soon -- all womyn are the opposite of big terms like lady / princess / queen etc which only reflect me... At first you're disgusted and think "how the heck does someone let it get this bad" but then you start to realize he had on socks 24/7. They never saw his feet but if he's at a nursing home this is unacceptable. I understand how seniors don't want help, they don't want to ask for help. They're dealing with so much as they age and lose the ability to do basic things. I understand a little how they feel, I have two herniated discs and I've lost the ability to: bend over, tie shoes, put on socks, cut my toe nails, wash my hair, brush my hair, style my hair, wipe my bum, pull on tighter clothing, etc. I'm 25yrs old and I can't do anything really. It depresses me and I still have options, I couldn't imagine being a senior and not really having any options and losing all my independence. Thank you for all that you do 💙

I watch your videos a lot and as a result have learned that my toenail which was damaged many years ago is what it will always be. Can't remove it cause will grow back thick like it is now. Thank you so much for that knowledge.

You are my favorite podiatrist to watch on KZbin. I like that you explain what is going on with the foot or toes but also what has happened in the past that had created the problem. I dont know why i have such a hard time finding you on KZbin. I will ask my daughter what i can do. Keep clipping ! LoL ! I wish you the best in 2021 !

ME TOO! Well not my grandma. I look after my father's toe nails. He has worn tight hard shoes most of his life due to his work as a laborer. Now that he is older and diabetic I worry about his toes and feet especially since can't reach his toes like he used to due to back problems. I am so thankful to Jo Bro for his educational videos.

Toe Bro I love how you explain things and educate the patient and caregiver/family member on how to maintain the patient's feet. I work in an ortho office in Southern CA and our six doctors and five PA's see a patient every 10-20 minutes. They can't take the time to speak with the patients like this, which is a sad reality. Healthcare in America. On a side note, I started buying all my shoes on-line stores only like Footsmart and Vionic. They are pricey but they have the arch support, heel support, vionic insoles, etc, and I can get the half-size shoe I really need instead of having to buy shoes that are too small. When I look at shoes in the stores now they seem poorly made in comparison.

To give people an idea of how easy it is for this to go unnoticed, my 85 year old step-grandma didn’t notice how long my 87 year old grandpa’s toenails had gotten until she accidentally walked in on him getting in the tub. He always wore socks and slippers around her, and he could still shower/bathe on his own, so she never saw his bare feet in that capacity. He was too proud to ask for help with his nails, and she didn’t think to ask. They LIVED together and it wasn’t obvious.
