I'm shocked he didn't have raging maggot infested wounds with all the feces and urine trapped in that mass. I've sadly seen some of these cases during my years in veterinary practice so I' SO glad Simon had a great outcome.

6.5 pounds of fur, dirt, urine, feces, etc., that Simon had to carry. No wonder he had to relearn how to walk normally. Poor baby!And, this had been going on for how long?!? His body looked in pretty good shape, once they got him shaved and bathed so, my question is this: Was he a stray or surrender? I mean, someone had to have been feeding him, because he wasn't emaciated. I guess it doesn't really matter in the end, though. I'm just happy he has a new family who love him and will take care of him now. Happy trails!

Im just worried about places like that will give you a dog thats twelve years old after you wait sometimes years and pays lots of money for a dog they just didnt wanna have to pay to put down he luves 2-8 months on 600 dollars a move worth if meds just seems like a scam

@@jules3048 this happened over a long time. I doubt the dog would have survived on its own as a stray with nothing to eat or drink and difficulty moving. There are people that dump dogs like this and you should see what they do in an Amish puppy mill.

Ohmigod, I can't imagine the suffering of that poor little guy! I bet he felt so much better after just getting all of that matted hair off of him. I was holding the tears until 3:17 when the little guy was shown wagging his tail after getting all that matted coat off him. He must have woken up from the grooming thinking he had gone to Heaven feeling so light and free getting bathed and cared for by Angels. ❤

I'm so glad they sedated this poor pup. It would have been so painful and overwhelming for him to be awake during the grooming. The groomers are amazing and did an incredible job of cleaning him up! That poor dog was likely carrying around an extra 50% of his body weight in dead, matted hair ! So glad that he was rescued, and kudos to the vet team, the groomers, and the adopters ! If anyone sees dogs in need, please, just help. Get them to a rescue, or a shelter.

As a former groomer, I can't tell how nerve racking it is shaving dogs that are that badly matted. Especially around areas like the eyes, the tuck up, arm pits, ears, & lips. The vets techs did an amazing job, it's amazing also that he didn't get a hematoma from the tightness of the matting.

I think some people get these types of dogs and don’t realize the time and costs to maintain the dog. Many dogs have to be groomed regularly.
