Always delighted when someone restores a blade instead of turning it into a mirror-polished, epoxy filled showpiece that has nothing to do with the original. Excellent job, what you did with that scabbard was nothing short of magic.

Its actually not a kar98 bayonet, its for the Gewher 98 the ww1 long version. The bayonet itself is if im not wrong an m98 wich was issiued to the troops in the beggining of the war until they were starting to change them out for the newer and better 98/05 artillery bayonets. Still a great video tho, love your content man!
@A21N3 жыл бұрын
That is be already the Seitengewehr 98/05 And "there is no" M98. There was only the Seitengewehr 98/05 (or a other name: Seitengewehr Modell 98/05) the M stands for Modell. So it is actually the Seitengewehr 98/05 ;) Also if you put m98 bayonet on google you'll just find the Seitengewehr 98/05 ;)
@wilhelmvonhohenzollern65823 жыл бұрын
@@A21N the Seitengewher is much shorter than the bayonet in the video, you can also see how the bayonet bends when the guy was cleaning the end of the bayonet, And there is a m98 or m1898 bayonet If there woudnt be one, there woud be no 1898/05. You can read about the bayonet and see some pictures here: www.gotavapen.se/gota/artiklar/98bayonets/98bayonets1.htm

@russbilzing53483 жыл бұрын
Towards the middle of the video (13:58-14:02), you can see when he returns the friction spring to the scabbard, the rust between the inner lips of the spring. If he didn't bother to do that little bit of work when he had it out on the table or do anything to deal with the pitting on the blade itself, I highly doubt that he bothered to even run a bristle brush through the inside of the scabbard. Since he seems only to be concerned with what shows on the outside, I find no reason to put any faith in the hope that he might have.
@berejorrie3 жыл бұрын

MfG R. 🙋♂️
