Nice vid. Must buy something similar eventually. Seems to be a best option for ladder branch-cutting ;), even the bigger ones.

I think the blade does the trick here. I mean DUC101 is fine, it cuts much faster than the reciprocating saw, but it is very compact and might be too short in some circumstances. And the blade in reciprocating saw with 300mm length is a one fine cutting device ;). It is also flexible so can be used even in different angles. I have "two-handed" reciprocating saw but it seems a little bit too big for a ladder use. A "one-hand" device like DJR189Z is more handy and compact.

@@krystian8508it is easy to use single-handed, if you only require rough cuts like tree pruning. fine cuts still require 2 hands to control the vibration. and don’t cover the vents when holding, like in the vid, or else you’ll burn the motor.

I was thinking to get a serious lopper which was around $150, but I changed my mind after watching this video. Some more I already have the batteries and charger for other Makita tools.

You can also get better blades. I got my father this tool with Bosch's "Expert Tough Wood" blade and it cuts quite fast through wood - tested against other blades and the lower TPI just cuts much better when it comes to wood.

I've got one, and while it's no demolition saw, it's pretty good at what it does. I used it recently for cutting roots during multiple tree-stump removal jobs.
