Michael Caine had a glorious quote about being in this movie: "[on Jaws: The Revenge (1987)] I have never seen it, but by all accounts it is terrible. However, I have seen the house that it built, and it is terrific."

I'm glad there's no Jaws V.

This film is the reason why there no more Jaws sequel's anymore. Actor Roy Scheider said Universal Studios knew better to ask him to come back. He said he was done with those films. After seeing this one I was done with those films as well.

I didn't know Joseph Sargent directed this film. He directed that great early 70's thriller, The Taking of Pelham One Two Three.

Their review of Jaws: The Revenge was just an excuse for them to riff on Michael Caine for being on location for this movie instead of attending the Oscars to pick up his award as Best Supporting Actor for Hannah And Her Sisters (1986) and the biggest blunder in which Caine's shirt is surprisingly dry after he emerges from the water. ''I'm gonna get me a Brody if it's the last thing I do, urp, urp, urp, urp''

"I hate when that happens... a dream sequence. I wanted to go and punch a hole in the screen. A lousy gimmick." - Gene Siskel "Boxing Helena... a brave little movie... didn't get a fair shake with audiences... video pick of the week" - also Gene Siskel

Worst of the series but what I find really annoying was the constant slow motion speeds. Was the director trying to overdue Sam Peckinpah?

This is no better than the original imho. Cos the shark lets out a lion-like shriek, which is dumb. There should only have been one movie (or two) instead of a tiring continuation. And Roy Scheider was right to have turned down the two sequels.
