Great review! Some updates: Exway now sells 105mm Cloudwheels that use 36T hubs with 6 pins. If you buy the accessory kit package, you get 4x 105mm Cloudwheels, 2x 36T/6 pin hubs, and #255 spare belts. With their new kit, you don’t have to take apart the motors or motor covers to replace the 85mm stock wheels with the 105mm Cloudwheels on the rear set. You only need to loosen the lock-nuts, pull off the 85mm wheels, pop the 36T/12 pin hubs off the drive belts, push in the 36T/6 pin hubs while aligning the teeth on hub and belt, put on the 105mm Cloudwheels, and you’re good to go. The accessory kits gives spare wheel bearings (4X) and sleeves (4X), so you don’t have to pull out and re-use the ones already installed on your 85mm wheels. You also get a pair of #255 drive belts, which are the same as what is installed from the factory with the 85mm wheels, so you can put the extra #255 belts away as spares. A pair of motor covers are also included in the kit, but these are the same as what are already on the Exway Wave Riot board, so they can also be put away as spares. Keeping the number of teeth the same (36T) on the hubs means you don’t have to mess with all the issues that come with swapping to the larger diameter 44T hubs and the longer belts, which because of the steeper belt angle [caused by the larger diameter hub] rub and grind on the standard motor covers. For this reason, Exway recommends NOT using motor covers with the 44T hubs. The 36T/6 pin hubs allow you to keep the motor covers in place, which I feel provides valuable protection to the belts and the motors.

Hi mate, it’s a tough one as they are super different The Wave is a 30” pocket rocket packed with a heap of tech (lights, app, smart battery etc The Stoke is not really a short board it’s 33” and looks and feels huge compared to the Wave. Not to mention the battery capacity. I got 10km on the Stoke and 18km on the Wave (and I was ridding a little harder on the Wave) End of the day, The Stoke is a super carvey shit load of low down power with a stable top speed. The wave is not as carvey but yea more range, more tech and feels more like a shortboard. Hope this helps a little (Oh and I hate the double trigger on the Stoke just my personal preference)

Amazing !! The default ones are good 80A I think I would ride them first and in the future upgrade. Just remember if you upgrade to the cariama you’ll need new pully as well

And did you guys know I’m a professional electric skateboard or sometimes putting bigger wheels on your skateboard actually gives you more range, believe me I know from experience, and 80A is hard as a rock! 76-74A Durometer is definitely what you are looking for no matter what the surface is!!!

Hey Scott, a quick question if you don't mind. I'm finding that there is only one tension for the belts, not like say the evolve boards where you can adjust the belt tension. Is there a way to adjust tension on the wave?

Not really, they have gone with a non adjustable motor mount to keep it simple.

@@scottdaviesyoutube ok...you won't believe this but I just spent an hour doing what the others mentioned. I took the 4 motor screws out, took the gunk out and the motors actually move enough to loosen the motors. Now my belts are so much looser and perfect. Have a great day mate.

@Persian Lion watch Fabio's range test. Electrik.com review, and several other mentioned a beattry "feature" as Exway calls it. A kid called Alexander J has posted some credible stuff as well about it. I don't have my board yet so I can't speak to it personally. And I wouldn't cancel based off of 1. This may be firmware updatable and luckily you got a board that can handle that. 2. Many say its their favorite board to ride, and you already two months in deep, not like it's gonna get faster restarting fresh with another company unless that company is in your country where they're domestic shipping it(... so Australia wins for once with Evolve...) the problem could be incline related too. We just don't know enough yet sadly. Eskate needs something like JohnPaulYT's the gut. But make it a marathon also to really put a board through its steps and test battery sag and the like.

@Persian Lion but the supposed problem is when the board battery temp hits a temp the board slows down. If it hits 10% more heat, it locks your brakes up until board is cooled down. I think that's a little lame... and according to the specs of least motor to battery ratio, that shouldn't be a problem unless the ESC can't handle the current.

100% just turn the acceleration down in the app, and the brakes up. As long as the roads are semi smooth this is a very nice board to ride. In low mode i give it to my 5 year old daughter it’s so smooth it won’t throw her off .

Hi mate, firstly great user name ... Yes they roll, if a belt drive there is a little resistance, but not much, if there is a lot then your belts are too tight, as for hind and direct drives they almost roll like a normal board,

Hello what is the difference between the wave riot and the wave hub ?

To be very honest they are very very similar the Riot being a belt drive is a little smoother as you have 4 real wheels and the hub has two real and to Motors. As far as power they are both quite comparable The riot makes a little more Noise, and will require a little more maintenance Hope that helps

My board arrived yesterday. Exway wave riot, mini board 🛹 Dope as fuck! Love it! But just one thing... I can not reach the 3 gear? It's locked on my controll when I try to use it. Can't even find why that's a problem in the book manuals... Very strange So I can only use the 1.st + 2 gear. But not the 3 for some fucked up reason🤨 I hope you guys know & can help me Thank you!
