Why would a girl hit herself if she didn't like someone's advances? I think it's because, as female, our choice in genetic material is a little more profound for us. We are going to do the raising. So we want a good pick. This is true across animals. When a male 🍇 a female, he is essentially robbing her of father. It ruins the legitimacy of selecting a good mate, and any degenerate could wiggle their way into the gene pool. Thats really what I think people are repulsed by when they think of 🍇 He wasn't legitimately selected. I dont mind losing my retina. I wouldn't want to raise a handicap either 🤷♀️. If his only way of being selected is through brute force. Yeah I wouldn't select anyone with such atrocious strategies either. I wouldn't want to raise a handicap.

Actress Vivien Leigh had blue eyes, but Scarlett O’ Hara in GONE WITH THE WIND is described as having green eyes in the novel. While filming, to give the illusion that she had green eyes, makeup gave her slightly green undertones near her eyes, as well as the cinematographer tried to film close ups whenever she was wearing green.

Im an artist, and I always loved monolids - they look clean and its so elegant to me. Lucy Liu's mom always shamed her eyes, she thought they look small, and hated her freckles, but Hollywood and whole world was captivated by her eyes and face. Alot of monolids look as elegant as hers, so you don't have to hate them, as the whole world kneeled before a woman with eyes like urs. Eurocentric beauty standards is a scam anyways ❤

Ok, I love you guys and have been following for a long time, but this one felt like you were overreaching and scraping the bottom of the barrel at the same time. It's just another version of the "blonde, brunette, redhead" tropes and those "What your eye color says about you" videos. Eye color is most of the time barely distinguishable onscreen, blue and green eyes look pretty much the same when filmed and I seriuosly doubt someone lost or won a part based on their eye color. Ocassionally, actors have to change the color of their eyes to play a character, like Jim Caveziel to play Jesus, but really all this meaning you are reading into eye color is not cutting it for me.

I totally agree with the stereotypes overlapping with hair color. But I beg to differ on eye color being a factor in casting. Blue eyes especially have been such a huge sign of beauty (in the US and Europe) for since color cinema exists, that it's really noticeable how many Hollywood actors and actresses have them. They're so overrepresented. Really rare, piercing shades of blue also, sometimes even edited as turquoise.

It is recommended not to wear makeup nor anything that calls attention to an audition because directors do focus on everything about you, some have a very visual way of story telling so yeah things like eye color or hair color matter

@KrisRN23935 They may have been mentioned that way, but gray is not "icy blue" hence the reason I and a few other people mentioned it. It is its own color with its own spectrum of shades and deserves to have its own mention, especially if they were going to mention colors like red and purple that are very rare and yellow that are basically animalistic. But I digress...

I hope she embraces and loves her unique little angel speck growing up.

Can’t believe y’all didn’t cover heterochromia. The way that dual eye color is used in media is very prominent. It’s also not well know that there are multiple kinds of heterochromia, not just the kind where one eye is one color and the other eye is a different color. That’s complete heterochromia when one eye is a completely different color than the other. There’s also sectoral heterochromia where a part or parts of one or both eyes are different colors. And the last kind is central heterochromia where the central part of the iris ringing the pupil is a different color than the outer part of the iris. I have central heterochromatic eyes, green with a ring of amber around my pupils. My whole life people have argued over whether my eyes are green, brown, or hazel. But they’re actually two different colors- green and light brown. And like I said, the way heterochromia and the various types of heterochromia have an interesting trend of representation in media that is quite different from any of the homochromatic eye colors.

back in 2015, i dyed my hair light ginger red for the first time and i've found out that i have dark hazel eyes cause they changed color. i started see my eyes very light in the mirror and it was very w*ird at first. then i looked at them in the sunlight and i wasn't going insane. i asked my eye doctor and he confirmed it too. apparently, hazel eyes usually the ones change color when the person dyes her/his/their hair. cause they mostly carry brown, amber, blue and green in them. my dad and aunt have light hazel eyes but i've never thought that i had hazel eyes too. my mother's eyes are dark brown, so as my big sister's. that's why i always thought that i had dark brown eyes like them. it was a very fun revelation for me. 😁

Look, I'm not a casting agent (if anyone here is, please enlighten me), but I feel like, unless it's a specific part of a character's look or story, is eye colour really considered that much for every role? Is every screen character's eye colour chosen specifically to convey a particular personality, or have we just applied these stereotypes afterwards? Because, as this video even states, there are a wide variety pf character types with all common eye colours. If anything, it might be the combination of eye and hair colour that creates a look.

@NotAnotherKuromi11 күн бұрын
Does your country's media also focus on blue and green eyes a lot? Imo it seems to be the USA who seems oddly focused on eye colour, like this video sounded like racism, I literally never thought of an evil character "oh yes of course they had green eyes of course they would be evil!" That prejudice is not common here. I think people compliment if blue eyes are bright as it is rare but it is not linked to inner characteristics.

And somehow, within animation/comic books, there's usually the pairing of a blue-eyed guy with a green-eyed girl, yes granted it can be out of aesthetic reasons. However, it does give off a class differences undertones between the couple(like green eyes are like a metaphor for a girl from a working middle-class background, and the blue-eyed guy being naive, as an indicator that he grew-up sheltered)

this maybe an unpopular opinion but I see blue and sometimes even green eyes as artificial and fake and brown as more earthy and more trustworthy. I don’t know why.
