Eye Kettleby Lakes - Melton Mowbray. First time towing a car

We recently added an A frame to our little "noddy" car and decided to have a test run at a local site.
This site is adults only and has 9 fishing lakes. It's a very nice site with a bar and restaurant. You can walk into Melton Mowbray but is a good hour walk.

Loved the reveal shot with wind sock and drone at the beginning followed by the reveal of the north and south sites. Watch the horizons though… not level so the gimbal might need calibrating.

Hi guys love your blogs, or is it vlogs?.... "not sure" Here's a question for Andy if you let him get a word in edge ways lol. How are you finding driving lady B compared to your VW van? It must be twice as long. Did you find it difficult turning left and right at stop signs and going round roundabouts? with it being so long? Sorry if you think its a daft question but we were thinking of buying a long motorhome but was worried it may be tooooooo long if you know what i mean. Anyway love you guys and look forward to your next episode.

Thanks Shaun, no idea about the blog/vlog. I think it’s a vlog and I’m sticking to it 😉 This is Jo and I drive it sometimes, it’s surprisingly easier than I thought. I just had to be aware of tight turns and swing out further. Parking is no problem as long as you have a space big enough. We have added a tow car now and that frightens me more. Andy says it follows the van so perhaps I just need more confidence. So yes go for it, it’s not as bad as you imagine. Also I like being high up. We are currently in France and do well on the other side of the road too 🚍

No, unfortunately it’s still illegal to tow unless it’s on a trailer. Hopefully this will change soon 🤞🏻

Hi both, great vlog ! I’ve seen the site before on various reviews but your drone footage gave an idea on how big the sites were. It certainly looked busy. The A frame is another job I need to do. Did you fit it yourself or someone installed it for you ? We have just changed the tow car as two plus a cockapoo doesn’t work in a smart car ! Fiat 500 is the way forward. Thank you, it is a big site but lovely walks to each area. The dog walk is one of the best, my ultimate favourite dog walk is Treamble in Cornwall. I honestly love the fiat 500, we bought a C1 but I hated it. We did a bit of research and used a company armitages trailers armitages.uk It was £1200 for a frame and installation 🚍🥰

@@LadyBMotorhomeAdventures Hello… It looks like a pretty good site to put “in the book” The other site we liked the look of that you visited was Sherwood Pines. That will be great in a few years when the bushes get more established. Yes, we cannot fault the 500. Great car. I’ve got the A frame and the bit that goes behind the bumper, I really need to get on and fit it ! Hunters Moon, Wareham club site have a good dog walk. Keep up the great vlogs ! Which A-frame have you gone for? They seem to vary a lot in cost! Does it have electronic braking?

Yes they do vary, we looked at one company who was 3k. So we hunted around and have gone for this company armitages.uk/

Hi, another nice blog with great shots with the drone , we also got the same A frame to tow our VW up !! Just be careful that the brake linkage has a couple of inches play as I had mine too tight and it was pulling the car brakes on when towing , but after adjusting it tows loverly even if the frame is a touch heavy to man handle . Anyway keep the videos coming they are great 👍

Yes I think we are really going see the benefits of having “noddy”. I was a little apprehensive about towing but Andy was really happy when we arrived 🚍🚗

@@LadyBMotorhomeAdventures we still use Ethel when we know we can’t get into the little places. Tip… if you go to a campsite that’s a bit tucked away, pull over a few miles before the campsite and unhitch, both drive in solo 👍🏻 Reverse the plan when you leave 😉🚐 🚙
