Great speaker!!! Very informative. I am now inspired to get trained as an EMDR therapist thanks to this video.

My daughter moved to Puerto Rico to become a nanny when she was younger. She met and married a Puerto Rican. Dancing has saved her especially after having to leave the island after hurricane Maria for a year leaving her husband but bringing her children here for a year of school. She was given only hours of notice that they had to vacate the island. It nearly blew her away. She got a job, went afterwards to a Latin dance studio four days a week while I watched the kids. She made it through the year. It was horrible for her teenagers who also had trauma. They lived in an area that looked like a jungle and in the morning all that was left was dirt and tree stumps. Much of what was normal was gone on the island. Poles and power lines left the cities look as though they were covered with spaghetti. A fairly safe place became dangerous with dangerous gangs and individuals ready to take away food or water while threatening with a weapon. I'm grateful they got through it OK. This type of therapy could have really helped them and it still could.
