Have you access to "liquid art panels"? They are board instead of canvas, with a very small lip to catch the paint when you tilt. That hard back will help you preserve the next eye that you do (though there was still the fear of cracking). You got good enough pictures of the eye that you could probably extract the best frame and do prints. That is a spectacular creation - from beginning to middle to end.. 👁
@MarkJRatcliffeArt2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Rebekah - yes I do have access to those, our local Hobby Craft sells them. Thank you so much for the suggestion of prints. Maybe I will investigate that option. Thanks as always 😊🙏
@RebekahSue2 жыл бұрын
@@MarkJRatcliffeArt even if you don't sell them, I'd suggest you have one printed for yourself. You're SO happy with the evolution of that piece but you were in this beautiful shocked daze when you saw The Eye and it would be nice if you could feel that again.

Your eye looks amazing Mark, you said there was too much paint to leave, will it not dry eventually or will there be a reaction or something if you left it as it was. I love the colour combo. It's stunning 🤩🤩🤩
@MarkJRatcliffeArt2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Pam. I was so tempted to leave it and see however…. Because there was a large/thick puddle of paint in the middle there was a high risk it would have cracked or split, that’s due to the paint on the surface drying quicker than the paint within the puddle, that’s why it’s so important to get consistent layers within creations. Thanks so much for your wonderful feedback 🙏😊

Hi Mark. I tried making an orange sphere filled with cells. The sphere is similar to 3:21, but after one minute the cells stretch and create an unwanted shade. The sphere also stretches and does not remain round. Do you think the problem is the black background too liquid??
@MarkJRatcliffeArt Жыл бұрын
I would say that the base color was too fluid and a different consistency and that you probably had too much of it too. When layering your base color ensure it’s consistent across the base (no puddles or no more paint in one area than the other). As you layer your Color’s on top the base will spread and if that is uneven it will drag the top color to a space of even proportions so I think the base would have been your issue
