Last March I went to the Optician in Manila, and they changed me 800 Pesos for my daughter…everything inclusive…eyeglasses 👓 and examination. In the USA 🇺🇸 that’s about 1,200 dollars 💵

Prescription eyeglasses is one of the items you definitely get cheaper in the Philippines.

Ginno+Dazel - this video came such a perfect time. You read my mind Bro. I was actually going to asked you about the cost differences of getting prescription glasses there. I have some nice eyewear frames I bought online and was thinking about just getting the progressive lens done there when I visit. I know it's so much cheaper there. I got a quote from a local ophthalmologist today and they want $170 to put basic progressive lens my own frames then another $120 for an eye test. Crazy expensive. So thanks for this video. Your lunch was yummy & cheap too. Haha
@dazeltv13515 күн бұрын
That is cool my brother. You definitely will save if you have the progressive lenses done here. The eye exam is included when you get the lenses; I know they hardly charge us for the eye exam. They just want us to buy the frames and glasses at EO. Greenwich has actually gotten better; renovated and food improved. It's a quick (fast service) and cheap meal; less crowded than the Jollibee right across from it. 😃

eyeglasses are so much cheaper than in the USA. I spent over $1700 USD or 95200 pesos for 2 pair of glasses. totally progressive with all the protection added. I wanted to wait till I got there, but my eyes said they couldn't wait. Dazel's glasses really fit her, very cute on a very cute Filipina.

A great video. Very informative. My Filipino wife and I are amazed that there is already such a possibility in the province as in Manila. It's almost better than in Germany. Cheaper and faster. But is the quality also better?... My wife Josephine paid here in Hamburg for a simple model and anti-reflective glasses with -3 and -2.5 diopters 350.- € (21K PHP). So 5 times Dazel's glasses. So that's a big plus for the Philippines. But what surprises me is the eye test. What you show in the video is the "Autorefractometer". Dazel didn't have to do anything and recognise nothing. Actually, this is only a preliminary information for the optician for the eye test. The "subjective eye glass determination" is still missing by means of e.g. Reading a series of numbers. The test would have to take about 15 minutes. Maybe Dazel had already taken the test?
@dazeltv13514 күн бұрын
I would say the quality is probably better in Germany based on other products I’ve seen from Germany. I couldn’t film the actual eye test with the Optometrist because it was in a private room. The eye test was included in the price of her new glasses.

Here in Pennsylvania, USA i bought 2 pairs of reading glasses, exam included for $80. I guess its cheaper here
@dazeltv13515 күн бұрын
The prescription glasses package (glasses, frame, and exam) starts at 795 pesos ($14) each and go up to 4,400 pesos ($80) each. Just depends on the frame you want. We don't mind spending more on the frames when we get our glasses because we where our glasses everyday.
@horacesubayar7943 күн бұрын
Hi guys, $80 is a bargain. The eye exam was free but my frame with progressive and transitional lenses cost $759 two months ago. That"s life in America. Take care and we love you all.

How much is a transition lens with a UV filter?
@dazeltv13515 күн бұрын
Depends on the frame that you get. I have a flexible frame that it also really light called Dior superflex frame; I really like it. I have transition lens with UV filter with my Dior frames and my total package (frame, glasses, and exam) cost me 5,000 pesos ($90).

Ginno Do you know is that with the test? Also prescription
@dazeltv13515 күн бұрын
Yes; all the prices include eye test and prescription. The eyeglass makers here just want you to buy the frames or lenses from them. An eye test and prescription hardly cost anything here; I would be surprised if it cost $10.
