One thing I struggle with is tom punch that sets well in the mix, Kick is great Bass guitar and guitars, all great but the toms just don't hit me right. How would you approach?

Do I need to use a limiter on the tom bus?
@ShootieSchool12 күн бұрын
@@midkiffjd There's many things to try. There is stick attack in the high end of the EQ. Great way to cut through. In highgain mixes, side chain compression so the mix or strings backs off for the toms.

Thank you for another excellent tutorial Shawn. Although I've used EZ Drummer for over 10 years, I always come away from you tutorials with more than one "a-ha moment". It's also appreciated that you do not assume people already know things as your teaching can be grasped from the beginner to the more advanced user.

Super helpful overview of the volume stages. Been struggling with too much hihat in overheads and didn’t think to turn down on drums tab. Looking forward to trying this technique. Great video as always!

Hey there Shawn. great vid. I didn't know the order of volume, and have always struggled with choosing an initial drum sound for a new song. What you said really helped me to get closer to what I am looking for in a drum sound.

@@ShootieSchool thanks, going well thanks, hope you are too. I'm mostly interested in EZDrummer so took a bit of a back seat for the recent videos. I nearly pulled the trigger on EZMix, but decided against it for now. I'm still very much learning how to create music and learning guitar, bass and finger drumming and that's keeping me well and truly busy in the limited time I have.

I get that. No need to spread out too much. Best of luck.

All adjustments make it to the stems except and master fader fx.

The biggest reason for me to change volume on individual drums is when mixing drums from different kits. The overall volume of the kits is not the same from product to product. Some of them need like 5db one way or the other.
@ShootieSchool19 күн бұрын
Certainly. Death Metal is super quiet.

Great stuff! Does anyone know of an EZX which has a '90s style piccolo snare (think Deftones), a clap stack, and a china available on the same kit?

friend how are you? First of all, greetings from Argentina, I wanted you to clear up some doubts for me. A long time ago I learned how to assemble the drum bases with the ez drummer3 but it's hard for me and I didn't get the hang of transferring it to reaper to finish putting the guitar and bass in the Metal style
@ShootieSchool15 күн бұрын
Do not transfer it to Reaper. Load EZDrummer/EZbass into a Reaper Channel as a plugin.

I totally agree . I recently bought the Classic Rock EZX and found that I liked the classic rock and vintage presets in the core library as much or better than the ones in Classic Rock,
