Eze, France: Expectations vs. Reality - Exploring the South of France 🇫🇷

Eze is one of THE MOST POPULAR places on socials at the moment, so we had to see it for ourselves and find out what it's really like. It was a BIG reason we drove our van to the South of France - in particular the riviera in 2023, so we're hoping it wouldn't disappoint.
We start off in the van on the outskirts of Nice, we found a really handy site for the riviera that had a train station close by.
We read lots of blogs and Insta posts etc on Eze, and lots of them say to take public transport to get there. Like our previous vlog in Nice we took the train, and then the number 83 bus to Eze village. Although this worked it isn't quite how people describe it, or at least it wasn't for us.
We explore Eze village itself, including the botanical gardens, before making the walk/hike back down to Eze Sur Mer.

In 1975 my wife and I spent a week in Eze at the hotel du Golf. There were hardly any tourists in those days. We had a magical week , walking down the cliff path to the beach, or driving our Capri into Nice, Monaco, Menton, Ventimiglia. Cant stand a lot of these places now. Too many people.

More stunning scenery again! We had similar misty views on top of Versuvius on our honeymoon in 2016. All that way and couldn’t see much at all lol

I am sorry I did not understood what was the problem with the bus. I will get to Eze in the next few days and I wanted to make sure if it s ok to get there by bus.

The bus driver drove like a maniac, so likely just our driver. He managed to hit a roadside table parasol, another vehicle and drove very quickly. The bus was busy too - but this was August. I'd imagine your ride will be much more pleasant and we wish you a safe trip - it is worth the journey.
