F-14A IRIAF - Radar Tutorial for New Players

Many new people came to top tier with the help of the free Abr .. uh F14 :)
So here's a tutorial going over the different radar modes, explaining how to use the Phoenixes etc.
I play from the cockpit as a sim player, but everything applies to RB as well.

To reiterate the modes: -> PD HDN = Main mode for Semi Active Radar missiles (R27, Sedjil, Aim7), only one single target track, can be notched -> SRC = Can be used with any missile, and in any orientation of the enemy, but prone to chaffing and ground clutter confusion, less prone to notching -> TWS HDN= Main mode for Fakour/Phoenix as explained from 21:57, can be notched -> PDV HDN = No IFF, not really being used in the F14, shows how quickly a plane is approaching

Having come into the US tree this way after the U.K. tree, this is really useful info to know before diving into Sim. No more faffing about with Skyflashes! Thanks so much!

PDV is Pulse Doppler Velocity, is PD but instead of using vertical as Range, is Velocity of the target (Closure rate) the "Clutter" is the Doppler filter which means the enemy is inside the closure rate that the radar doesnt see/filters as ground clutter, and it does have IFF but is Bugged like everything gaijin does

The missile is guiding itself when the big circle disappears over the target

There is a solid line extending from the missile on the radar aswel. Literally visualizes the missiles range

No, I want them to become smart so they can help you lob Fox 3s at the next event plane :) Education prevents people turning into zombers.
