TBH, I thought that with the exception of TACAN steering, the INS heading references (including computer targets/offsets) were true headings, not magnetic headings.

So all we need to do is set a offset then designate a point. It's nothing to do with IP or other navigation point, right?

correct. IRL the tomcat pilots found the nav IP too inaacurate so they bypassed it straight to WCS, and DCS has modelled that.

shouldn't it be 6 degrees plus 2 degrees 2 degrees true should be 8 magnetic

@@grimreapers I didn't learn any of the processes. it just clicked in my head during ground school. I am going off the assumption the solid lines with a slant are the magnetic lines on the map.

East is least, west is best. Subtract for East, add for west var.
