HB mentioned that radar slave to TCS is not available now, but comes later. However, it's not critical, cause either in DCS and in real world, the ability of this function is very limited. Another important feature missing is TWS AUTO mode, AWG9 in this mode doesn't really moves the antenna automaticly now.

Thank you for this information! I knew there was something very fishy about how TWS Auto loses track of stuff as soon as you switch to it in any tactical situation.

This camera has actually come in really handy, here’s an example. Picture yourself flying 100 miles out to waypoint and start flying cap around this waypoint then you get a call out or two to drop alititude and provide show of force or whatever. Let’s say you do a few runs of show of force then either jester wingman or awacs make a callout unknown group 50 miles this camera when locked into an enemy can give you a much better look at the target then having to merge and then identify. I had a similar mission to this description and because of the camera I was able to Identify an Iranian fighter and put The aim54 onto it.

I personally find this camera useless about 15miles, at least in DCS

Yea my bad probably was meaning 50km you can tell if the Bogey has black smoke trailing meaning could be fulcrum frogfoot or phantom 50 miles is prob to far but 15 yea my bad

RE: AUTO SEARCH mode, it seems like you have to get the target roughly centered on the ADL before it'll lock on; its search pattern is quite narrow, and may be intended for WVR assist without using the RADAR.

Man.. I never thought about using the TCS for ground spotting like the Shkval in the SU25T or KA50, but at the end it looks like you could.

The TCS plays a key role in choosing your CCRP bombing points, and lets you finalize the area you'd want to lob a GBU in :D
