The F-18 is for a long time a very underrated aircraft. Not much is shown about it. It is a beautiful airplane, lean and mean looking. With the Super Hornet, it is now starting to flex its muscles and capabilities! Truly an awesome airplane. For air to air combat, i would prefer it any day over an F-35!😊

The tornado f3 is pretty beautiful though but I think we’ve retired them. I can’t see why. They travel at 1400 mph they carry long distance missiles and bombs so why retire them.? It seems silly when they Cost so much and we had so many of them. If I’m ever rich enough I’m gonna try to buy an de commissioned f3 or f14 and fly them.

I do a lot of backpacking and one of the better backpacking stoves is called the MSR Pocket Rocket 2. Sometimes backpackers complain that it is too loud, but not compared to an F-18. To be honest I'd rather see a F-18 in action than a Pocket Rocket.

@@octane2099 The 'Super' Hornets are versions -E (single seat) and -F (two seats). The previous production models were F/A-18A-through -D, now often called 'legacy' Hornets, which is a new buzzword designed to make 'older' sound sexy and relevant. Besides the reshaped intake ducts, they are quite a bit larger all around; particularly they have larger wings with a re-added 'dogtooth,' larger tailplanes and larger & recontoured leading edge extensions (those flat projections that extent from the wings over the inlet ducts on either side of the fuselage). The engines are upgraded from the GE F404 to a more powerful version called F414, and of course the radar and electronics are all 21st century stuff now..
