It is so embarrassing for the unqualified people making negative comments on this video presentation about the F-35. Of course, they are too ignorant to be embarrassed... so I guess it's OK. Red Flag 17-1: F-35 kill ratio against all 4th gen fighters was 20 to 1. Results say it all.

@@CapitanTavish he's not talking about a simple test, he's talking about red flag war games where both american fighters like the f-15, f-16, f-18, f-22, and European fighters like the Gripen 39 and Eurofighter participated in. Even Su-30s participated in it.

@@CapitanTavish Red Flag isn't a test of one aircraft type against another. Red Flag is a combined air forces campaign series of war games over usually 2 weeks that help friendly nations and other units all work together as a joint force, against threat replicator forces known as Red Air, who study and train to fly real profiles of different threat air forces. Not only does the F-35 outclass the F-16 in every way, it does it while carrying a full internal combat load, while the F-16 doesn't carry anything but CATM training missiles and ACMI pods for the instrumented range complex out of Nellis AFB. In sidebar Basic Fighter Maneuver training between Royal Netherlands Air Force F-35As and Aggressor F-16Cs, the RNLAF pilots beat the F-16s, then went and delivered live bombs they had been carrying internally on the test ranges. In the actual Red Flag campaigns, Red Air never sees F-35s, and just gets whacked from the sky repeatedly. The only "kills" they got were when F-16s re-spawned and cheated the designated release point so they would have a chance to close to WVR and get a shot, while the F-35s had already written them off as killed. Other than that, no 4th Gen fighter has a chance to get within visual range or weapons parameters against F-35s. They see you from so far away, that there isn't a flight profile you can choose that would get you to closure, especially when you don't ever see them.

A lot of its capability is due to all the offboard systems feeding info to the plane. The plane itself is great but plane vs plane it wouldn't really fare too much better than others. If you took away the carrier radars, air base radars, satellite radar and imaging, awacs planes, etc. It would just be another plane. Thats the real challenge this plane faces more than other fighters, if it loses one or more of those connections it can cause big problems. Also idk why they would make a cockpit with no analog gauges at all. Id like atleast an altimeter lol

The key line he says is "This cockpit is incredibly simple for the human". I have read interviews of the pilots that fly this plane and they all seemed to be very impressed with it and they dont work for Lockheed. The cost is huge but they will solve all the problems. All aircraft go through problems. They get fixed. This plane is the last though, drones will be it eventually.

Ofcourse this is a very advanced aircraft and systems with sensor fusion and all. But I become a little bit provoved that he talk of the way they present information. Yes legacy platforms from US do have that issue that they over load information on the pilot. Though its not some thing revelutionary with the F35. This Idea of only presenting the most important information for the given moment have existed for quite some time. Also sensor fusion have been a thing for some time. Its very powerfull combined with all the tech on the F35 but not at all exclusive. At this time the F35 was just the latest platform developed that it could be integrated on.

It can fly, it can dogfight and it dosn't catch fire all the time and most problems are solved with it. It dosn't have tier 1 mavouverability or top speed but that dosn't make the aircraft trash. In this day and age dogfights are pretty much non existant because of the long range missiles and speed of the aircraft so it is all about having better radar, sensors, optics and stealth and in all of those f 35 is superior to any other aircraft.
