On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you prefer more up close and personal dogfights consider the IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battle series and experience intense WWII aerial combat over famous battlefields such as Stalingrad, Moscow, Rhineland and Normandy. Fight in and against Russian, American, German, British warbirds such as the P-51 Mustang, P-47 Thunderbolt, Bf-109, FW-190, Spitfire, Hurricane and rugged IL-2 Sturmovik attack plane. You can also fly legendary SPADS, Fokkers and Camels in WWI dogfights over the trenches of WWI and discover your inner Red Baron! And all of this can be experienced in jaw dropping virtual reality!
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

The Swiss Air Force air show squadron with their vintage F/A-18 (with avionics mods) show how good the platform is at very low speed with maneuvers that make you think the plane has thrust vectoring - its stunning to watch. Of course these maneuvers arent necessarily useful in a dogfight, but it still underscores the capability of the plane. There are plenty of videos of the Patrouille Suisse here on youtube if you like the plane and mad flying skills making it shine.

I've seen the RAAF Hornet do the same moves IRL at the Australian international airshow. Unfortunately won't be seeing them again because of the replacement by F35s who also so impressive moves as well. My favourite move was the low speed high alfa, it was barely moving forward at stall and could hold it without dropping into the ground.

So I doubt you will see this GS but I wanted to post it anyways. I ended up getting DCS because of your videos and how cool every one of your videos are after playing about 2 hours on the keyboard (and it being broken in the current version of dcs apparently) I got a flight stick and decided to try it that way and even then the frogfoot IMO just isnt fun to play and I was going to stop playing till I saw this video and you suggested the f-18 and I took the jump to get it and I have to say the F-18 is dramatically more fun, forgiving, reactive and overall just a more enjoyable plane to fly I have now been flying it for about 3 hours almost through the training missions for it and im so excited to actually get into the missions for it. Thank you.

Hi man, really glad you decided to give the hornet a chance, the su25 is good and all but its really just a plane to mess around with for a limited time to get familiar with the sim, and also to see if your PC can even run it. (there are people who live and die by the su25, but its not for everyone) but ya the hornet is a great starter aircraft and has huge potential for stuff for people to practice and learn. so, great purchase in terms of bang for your buck. Glad to have you in the community.

I grew up loving the F16 and did buy the module along with the 14 and 18. I got invited into a Navy group though and decided to start out with the 18 as it also matched my Winwing hotas. Now that I have flown it for a month or so I love the 18. I have not even got into combat yet just learning procedures, arial refueling, navigation, formation flying, and case 1 carrier landings. I still want to get some seat time in the 16 and 14 after I have a good understanding of all the systems in the 18.

My first full fidelity was the A-10C, 2nd was the F/A-18C hornet. Honestly, love them both and they're very fun to fly. A-10C is a bit harder to fly and use but worth it as it gives you a ton to learn and do. Though, I never understood why people said the A-10C was "hard" as I found it decently easy to learn... then again I was passionate about it and love the A-10 in general, and dogfighting/a2a isn't really my thing, rather be using my Mavericks or rockets/the 30mm cannon (:

Soo, technical differences can mean life or death for a pilot but in the end, who wins or loses a dogfight ultimately depends on the skill of the pilot.

I'm almost fully invest to get the Hornet for its multi role and the F-16 for its speed and agility. All though my virtual country air force doesn't have hornet's 😅

This must be a 1st generation J-16 (russian engine) rather than the newer variant with the 'home grown' Chinese engine.. the fact that it's flying for more than 2 minutes is a complete give-away!

@@bigoof1105 haha.. well, 130km stretch of water doesn't make an easy crossing for a military with no real operational experience in conflict.. drills and exercises are one thing.. coordinating and playing out a multi-domain strategy when coastal defences are raining hell-fire down on you is another..

It would flat spin too often, the f16 doesn't work with thrust vectoring.

Not sure what kind of early jets you have access to via DCS but anything from the late 40s to mid 50s would be cool to see again on your channel

I love watching a master at work. I have the FA-18 and F-16, but the A-10 keeps calling me back. I really like flying ground support. One of these days I'm going to need to start focusing on Air to Air training, because there are so many cool looking campaigns coming for my fighters.
