You're the only woodworker who tells me what floor of the building they're on at any given moment 😂😂 I do like the look of a pin router, it's far safer I think to take the workpiece to the tool, than the tool to the workpiece for things like this.

I'm wondering if you cover the wood with tape will it help with chip-out? You might want to try it. I don't have a pin router, just my 2 cents.
