Walter was a solid guitar player, but also humble enough to let other great players add their spice to the mix.

Thank you Steely Dan for all the great music over the years. I was a big fan back in high school in 1973 driving around north van in my Volkswagen van with them loud on my 8 track. Also I have played drums since I was thirteen and I am sixty four now. Still love the music, and it is as fresh as ever! Rip Walter!

For one silly 1978 movie (I saw it) there was some damn good music that came out of it. Lots of name brand artists. For some reason I got the movie "FM" mixed up with the 1981 movie "Heavy Metal" (saw this one too) so I looked at their lineup and Wow! is it heavy with talent. No wonder I got confused!
@jwc3o23 жыл бұрын
@@rondohunter8966 Steely Dan contributed a great song to "Heavy Metal", too: "True Companion". unfortunately, it got butchered in the movie but it's available in its entirety elsewhere out there...

Back when there were music stores that carried actual vinyl as well as swag, I was looking at their collection when a couple of yout's saw a Steely Dan album, picked it up and looked at it saying "who the hell is Steely Dean?" I just looked at them like the Gramophone Record dog, turning my head sideways cause he just said the most idiotic thing, they just stared back. I looked at the clerk who heard it all and he just burst out laughing and went into the back to tell the other employees. The kids left not knowing what they did.
