Bahador Alast, Wow, that was a fantastic video, it was obvious that Wijbrand was connected to Iran as soon as I saw the wallpaper behind him, and the fact that he was the one asking the questions. Wijbrand is such an interesting person, I consider him being a real Iranian. I would like to salute him for his effort through the years. I am also happy to see Shahrzad participate this time. This has been a very pleasant video to watch. Thanks a lot. ❤

As a native Iranian and a pro working musician and someone who also studied numerous ancient languages, I could not believe my ears and eyes the way this gentleman speaks Persian. I've seen and talked to many who could speak Persian fluently, but the way he is speaking Persian is beyond just accuracy and fluency, he speaks with attention to many profound subtleties in the Persian language that perhaps ONLY a good musician can recognize. I'm very impressed indeed! Much love from Australia!

Wow this is very impressive! This Dutch guy is truly multi-talented. Even he managed to understand Tarof system!! 😀 We Indians do have a similar tarof culture but it’s very basic kindergarten level. Let’s say we are somewhere between Dutch and Persian culture. I have an Iranian friend who would tarof me several times and I used to struggle to keep up with him. Sometimes he would be offended a little whenever I say something to him in a straight forward manner. 😬I am currently trying to learn spoken Persian and I am a huge fan of Persian music. Again, very impressive video! Mersi va dametoon garm.

Thank you! Actually maybe it's not a good thing to do since it's a bit like acting 😄 but it's also helping to create or keep a safe atmosphere for the conversation. I tend to switch between these 'atmospheres' to make everyone feel at ease/home. This is a thing that is very important when learning a language, but it is given less attention in regular language classes.

@@WijbrandLuth OMG 🙈. Thanks for responding to my comment. You seem like a humble person. To be honest, I have experienced the same thing when I learned English, where being blunt is preferable in western societies. On the other hand, when having a conversation in my native language (Arabic), being blunt considered unethical especially where I live. That's why I keep reminding myself about cultural differences before talking to anyone, and you doing it in a natural and easy manner is just amazing.

Even "Persian" language should be called dialect of Arabic because most of it is Arabic. Persians have no language or names. Look at Iran leader and president and everyone using Arabic names. Oh my God he is such a sweet guy😊😊😊 the part he talked about Tarof and what Iranians do for paying the money in restaurants was hilarious 😁 and the way he said he switches his personality while talking to Persians and Dutch people was so interesting. No need to say his Persian accent was great! I think it's such a nice idea to talk with foreigners who has studied Persian for years and their opinions about Persian language like this interview with this lovely Dutch dude :) Stay home ,stay safe🇮🇷🌷🇮🇷🌷🇮🇷

About that -che diminutive suffix, in Serbian, we've got various diminutive suffixes, it being a polycentric language, and -че/-če is quite a common one, being predominant in southeastern dialects (where my family is from), stretching further through the south Slavic dialect continuum to standard Bulgarian and Macedonian languages. I can't describe my amazement by founding out that it's not similar only in Persian, but in Dutch as well. Thank you for the video, I focused my comment on the extension of the similarity mentioned in it, the guest was lovely on so many levels, and the hosts are so well known by their qualities, that I'll skip the praise in order to avoid pathetics.

Ok so...I’m Dutch, and even though we learn English, German and French (or at least the basics of those 2 languages) at school, my jaw literally dropped when I heard him speak Farsi! I can’t really hear if he has a Dutch accent or not, but he seems rather fluent to me. I worked with refugees during my internship and picked up a few words in Pashto and Farsi, but only thing I can say is I recognise the languages (though I can’t really hear the difference between Pashto and Farsi). Like really nóbody in the Netherlands who doesn’t have an Iranian background or link to the country knows Farsi like that for as far as I know! I do love to listen to it though, it’s one of those languages that sounds ‘kind and smooth’ unlike Arabic or German of even Dutch for example (which contain a lot of harsh ‘ch’ sounds). I used to listen to Arash’s songs lol. Anyway, I’m so jealous, I can’t even hold up a normal conversation in German. While that language is way more similar to Dutch and I learned it in school for 5 years 🙈 But I guess you really need to be 200% dedicated to learn if you wish to master a foreign language like that (plus have a natural gift for languages I suppose).

As a dutchman also learning Persian. I would agree so many similarities with Dutch specifically the pronunciations. We pronounce much the same and the word Dochtar/Dochter is one I always use when providing examples. I first learned some words trading curse words with a Persian friend when younger ;) Both languages sounds like its being said in Klingon lol.

Thanks so much for this new video. Your Dutch Friend is amazing. Great person. It’s nice to see that you Guys put some effort and somehow show clearly the roots of European Languages. That root is old Persian or Avesta not Sanskrit as many say because the oldest one is Avesta and they just modified some sounds like H to S and P to F ....I just wanted to add a comment for Persian language lovers in order To try to save these beautiful and old language because if we don’t pay attention and if we don’t do some efforts little by little our mother language is going to disappear or become something that has nothing to do with the original language to try to save these beautiful and old language because if we don’t pay attention and if we don’t do some efforts little by little our mother language is going to disappear or become something that has nothing to do with the original language. French people they do it systematically each time a foreign word enter the French language a cultural institution called « académie française » Composed by writers and philosophers and best French experts replace immediately the foreign word by a French word equivalent that they create or they find in the existing French vocabulary. In this way the French language is protected. We must do exactly the same thing it is has nothing to do with the racism it is just something totally natural and normal for Persian lovers and culture protectors. So I’m going to continue and write in Persian to explain to people who appreciate this old language that is almost the root of many languages how to protect Persian I hope that it it’ll be useful. The biggest problem today for Persian language is Arabic words all Arabic words can be replaced by Persian words. It’s very easy I am going to show you how. ‏Supply chain: ‏ chaîne logistique. ‏Leasing : crédit-bail. ‏mother20.blogsky.com/1386/12/15/post-87/. ‏kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4HVqYmQaL-Feas ‏kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZPGmnign8d8iA

i just found your channel and it already made me watching straight for 2 hours now. iam half pakistani and half german born in germany, i can just understand some keywords to rebuild some easy kind of sense in Urdu. My Grandfather was speaking pashto and my grandmother is from punjab india. Iam not able to talk to them not able to express myself to them. i was raised islamic so my german mother taught me to read and pronunce arabic (the quranic way) and after learning some Quranic Verses in my Childhood, it was later pretty easy just add some more letters, and i got just had the persian and urdu alphabet, but its like a guessing of the pronunciation when i read it, because none of these languages adds vocals to their letters which makes it alot harder for me to get through these words. Later on as a child i sealed myself off from learning Urdu because i didnt like my relatives, i didnt see any worth to invest effort to learn urdu to talk to them as they could just talk german to me. this just kinda threw me back. But i got very good in like guessing the meaning of some words in very different languages just by the ROOT of the words Ive always felt like there is alot connection between languages, it just feel so right that i founds your channel! Thank you for giving this Platform You dont believe how often my mind blows when some words just makes SENSE hahaha Someday, even when on my latest days, i wish i can just go through the mixture of this world and understand every human being passing by that would be so nice..

Bahador has been locked out of his channel due to what Google calls "security reasons", and so far the recovery process hasn't gotten anywhere. As you may have noticed, there have been no new uploads or replies to comments since July 11, 2020. While we continue to wait to hear back from Google to resolve this issue, we have decided to create a new channel, and if Google does not help Bahador gain his access back to this channel, he'll start uploading videos on the new channel as soon as we reach a certain number of subscribers. At this point, I would like to ask everyone to please subscribe to the new channel. Heel mooi, maakt me heel trots, Wijbrand! 👏 I find many Dutch people that are open to learning different cultures, it makes me proud of them, but this is the first time I see someone having gone so far. 😁 BTW Turkish also has something similar the -cik ending, similar to the dutch -tje, and German -chen, so maybe they all come from the source. And apparently I am also a bit Persian cause I also do the washroom payment trick 😂 I don't know Persian but I heard him say TU Delft and La Haye (The Hague in French), when he spoke Persian. Did I heard it correctly?
